Best anti-depressive strains?

Yeah, but I think I know which flavor he's talking about. When I grew out NLx Haze it had a really distinct kind of aroma on all the plants. Not exactly incense... it was unique. Some Hazes can be pretty fruity, and given it's the king of polyhybrids the variety is quite significant.

I know he likes sweet strains. And this fits as most sweeter tasting strains I've had tend to be mood lifters too.

i agree, polyhybrids can be a pain in the ass if you want specific phenos. i think headband was also another good one in my opinion, very uplifting. maybe even a sativa dom sour diesel or ak-47.

Thanks for all the awesome replies everyone !! ~ However, I have another question for breeding experts. I want to pollinate my Durga Mata II (feminized seed) with some Hindu Kush pollen. What will happen if you hit a feminized girl with "regular" pollen from a male? Will the seeds be mostly female? My Cannabis Kitty really wants some seeds from the Durga Mata (since Paradise Seeds doesn't sell regular seeds). If I do this, what kind of result can I expect>?

Hate to rain on the parade, but I would stay far away from sativa dominants and anything 'uplifting.' They tend to exacerbate anxiety. The couchlock or calming effect from indicas is what you'd want. It may just be a matter of finding the right amount to use while still being functional.
Good point FJ - Some Sativas can indeed have the potential to make anxiety worse. However, as much as I like Indicas, they usually end up being a "day-wrecker" if I wake n bake with them. Maybe a pure Hindu Kush will provide the relief I need, without knocking my "dick in the dirt" - :blsmoke:
I have a couple of HK from Kiwi Seeds and I'm hoping to get a male, so I can pollinate my feminized girls. I wonder if the resulting seeds will be mostly female (or at least a high ratio) -
Anyone?

They should be close to 50/50. Although the answer might be more complicated than that based on how certain hybrids seem to turn out and reports of people getting 70%+ females - although without really strong evidence I'm inclined to not believe such reports. As I don't see how the mechanism would work.

Sweet Skunk from PeakseedsBC. Best anit depressant strain I've come across. It's been my daily smoke for years now and I never get tired of it.
I've got SS going right now. It's been hard to find a good smoke report on the strain. There are a couple out there but not enough to satisfy my appetite for information on it. Would you care to elaborate on the qualities of the high a little? Much appreciated if you feel like it.

Sweet Skunk is a nice strain. I find C99 is a better anti depressant though.
I've been looking at Peak's C99 lately. Any chance that it's the C99 you have experience with? I don't suffer the issues that Indicat deals with but I always have my eye out for sativa lines that have the qualities that he is asking about here. Happy, euphoria, all is right with the world, non-couchy, ect. Care to give a quick break down of the high and how it might be useful for his needs?

That Sweet Skunk is quite a stable line too actually. I'm unsure how you'd feel about the flavor - probably indifferent. Neither of my examples was very smelly at all. Just a bit on the sweeter - in a real subtle way.

Yes, it's the one I grew out. I will say he's been working it though and so my generation might differ a bit from yours. The original was fairly stable though and so have subsequent releases with some isolation of some more rare phenotypes.

Sweet Skunk is definitely sativa dominant. It can be a bit paranoia inducing in large doses. It's really quite excellent. I am likely to be popping more of these seeds in the not that distant future. Not hyper vigorous as it's definitely a worked line. But not a total slacker either. Will stretch a lot if grown from seed. Not so bad from clone. Outside it got mega bushy for me. But inside with smaller plants it didn't really branch out as much and you could probably use it for a SOG strain.

From what I grew this year, Kosher Kush and Green Crack are both pretty good for mental clarity with up highs that are moderately euphoric. The KK is indica but does not put me in a couch lock. The GC is more sativa dom and doesn't do much for body relaxation like the KK does. I also have issues with anxiety and for me it is all about harvesting at full maturity and not early. Just about anything harvested early makes me anxious and jittery.

I'm not sure where it would rank, but Infinite Euphoria had me chuckling and smiling like there was no tomorrow.

Thanks for the input, OG. the first 4 SS I popped turned up male but the 5th is female. I went 12/12 from seed with her because she was so far behind my Kali Mist that I didn't want to get too far off schedule with my grow. I agree that there is still vigor even though it's a well worked line. You're right about SOG too, from what I've seen so far. BTW Indicat, I'll toss Kali Mist, Serious Seeds, in the ring for you too, if you don't mind growing something that will take a little longer to finish. Super nice sativa high. A little picky about her meals, but still doable by someone with less experience, if you happen to fall in that category. The high is everything I asked about above. It's my go to bud. Everyone, and I mean everyone I've smoke up with it really likes it. I can't say for sure how it will effect anxiety for you as it is highly sativa leaning, but for depression I would go out on a limb and say it would be just what the Dr. ordered.

Thank you all for your replies !! ~ You Ganja-Heads fuckin' Rock !! ~ The absolute BEST strain I've ever had was a BCSC NL x Haze from the old Marc Emery catalog about 20 yrs ago. We grew a few females and .... I am still looking for that buzz to this day. Absolutely Cerebral, Uplifting, Fantastic HIGH from the pure sativa - Truly a unique experience. Since then, we've grown many crops and nothing comes close. Sensi Seeds sells NL x Haze (34.00$) - single, regular (non fem) seed ! I'd even be willing to pay that, if I knew it was the real thing. BCSC really nailed this one (or maybe they were just outstanding breeders in general). In any case, that bud was my "holy grail" and I miss that strain dearly. I've heard Sensi has declined in quality lately, so I've been dragging ass about paying that much bread for a few seeds. On the other hand, we ran Sensis Super Skunk last year and it was quite good. I guess the only way to find out is to give them a try.

once theyre too sativa dom i start getting this effect, uplifting becomes more like racy and paranoid. i feel he needs a well balanced hybrid, most strains i find helpful for anxiety have been sativa dom though, but not very sativa leaning(most are 60/40 sativa doms, some are more 50/50). smoking a small amount of an indica dom might do the trick as well, were all effected differently though so im not sure.

have you ever thought of making hash oil or bubble hash? i feel if i dont smoke too much it doesnt give me couch lock, also depends on strain to an extent.

We made a bit of hash last harvest- we just pressed or rubbed the keif in a small baggie and got a few grams of delicious hashish. There was never enough to go around, but we managed to feed our heads for a while. The hash got me (and Cannabis Kitty) Rocked after a good hit or two, every time. Psychedelic Silly Putty... Excellent stuff ! ~ Can't wait to press some more. Actually, we may just invest in a bubble bag kit and make some dry - ice hash. I've seen this method drop sick amounts of keif and can't wait to try it myself !
