What to do with water runoff with a SCROG.

So as you add levels of screen or the plant grows through it, the plants seem unable to move.

What do you do with runoff water in catch trays during immobilization of the plant?

Can you just poor water a little more accurately and let the runoff evaporate??

Alot of people running scrogs are using hydro or dwc/aero systems.
So run off isnt a real problem. If u cant use a separate reservoir then adding water or changing is a real pain in the ass once the screens are grown through

I wouldnt want to rely on alot of water evaporating because excess water can be a recipe for mold and other bad news since not alot of heat or light will be penetrating the canopy once its grown in

Yea it's a soil grow. Already mixed up mine.
I might just angle the drip pan and dry it up with paper towels.

Or u could buy a large sponge like the one for washing cars and soak it up with that.
I planned to just unattch my screen and lift it off to service my totes but once the screens filled it was impossible and not worth the risk of breaking buds off

nornally I just use pot trays and dump out runoff.

Buckethead. It's a small wet dry shopvac that sits on a 5 gal bucket. Will slurp up the run off in a jiffy

I also used a flood tray,but then used towels to soak up and squeeze water into a bucket.Worked ok,but as mentioned earlier,you gotta get it dried up to prevent mold and mildew problems.I'd go with the shop vac,next time.Air circulation proved very important using the flood tray method.Good luck and have fun...

Hey bro, check out the first scrog grow I've been doing. I came across the same problem.

So my screen is attached with cable ties. I cut them off, lifted the pot and screen, got my wife to slide a big pot under it (reverse way) and then I put a saucer down, then put the pot back down. The. I drilled a hole in the saucer do I can put a bucket under it.

Just get a flood tray for the bottom and run a small fan over the surface of the tray. will dry it up and works a little like an evap cooler until the run off is dried off. May be a pain in the ass to clean up later though, will just take some bleach and elbow grease between runs.

Or drill a hole in the side of the saucer...lowest point you can go....throw a grommet in there...a barbed fittting and some hose running to a sump well or some other lower collection point. Fuk a shop vac.
