Do you realize how unintentionally hysterical what you just typed is?

Basically, you say you support a 'theory' that cannot be proven, by citing that the lack of proof is part of the great fabric of science !

"We don't know....but we'll swear we're right and someday we'll prove it."

C.mon......!
you mean..

Define prayer. That would be your starting point.

Magic man? Hoo boy !

No question about that. Life has left the carcass.

Nor do I care to, if it means believing in a theory that the creator of the theory says can't be proven, I'd say your science is more a matter of faith than what you argue against.
so wheres your proof of the creator,mr.right? hmm?...
i can prove science...
once again,i invite you to an experiment....run into a burning house without a firesuit, just naked, holding a bible..do it,your faith will save you.youre so positive..come on,prove it to yourself..play russian roulette but pray to not get the bullet ever..
see..youre scared gods not there..if you truly believed in what you say, youd not be afraid of death..if you say its instinct, ill say ha! evolution...
come on,pull the trigger after saying 6 hail marys and ten our fathers, while facing west at noon,in a pool of holy water..try it...you might get to fuck 57 virgins in an alabaster temple...

Isn't science wonderful? I find this type of discovery fascinating. I remember reading about that a while back but that was a good read.

On another note, while I know many of us are atheist or agnostic (a position I find odd, as usually upon further questioning one is either an atheist or deist), we shouldn't be rude in challenging others. I believe we can make our point respectfully while engaging those of faith.

It's weird, religions have always fascinated me, despite the fact I am and have been an atheist since elementary school.

So, according to you, if you don't *believe*, you're in for a rough ride? Mother Theresa would be sent straight to hell if she didn't believe?

All of the rapists, murders, kiddie diddlers that reside in our federal penitentiaries will all have their tickets punched to the party in the sky simply because they believe your particular flavor of religion, eh? That's all it takes? LOL!!

Hey, man....remember how I criticized evolution by quoting the guy credited with the idea? Why don't you quote me saying any of what you just attributed to me?

Tell you what...we both know you can't, so let's move ahead. Per your example above, I'd say your indignation towards me is misdirected. You might try taking it up with the source:

"But the cowards, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."

Not my words, amigo - that's Revelation 21:8. A far cry from your misrepresentations.

You are aware of the issues surrounding legitimacy of revelations from a historical perspective?

Doesn't matter though, again these people didn't even realize the earth went around the sun.

You can dish but you can't take?
I didn't think we are that angry. I don't wanna gang up on someone, but at times I do think Amos either avoids, cherry picks or acts as if he is "opinion less but hey let me throw this out there". Some of these things do come across as disingenuous at times.

He enjoys picking apart other peoples opinions (complete with his favorite rolling-on-the-ground emoticon), but will not take a firm stance on anything so as to avoid any ridicule coming back his way.

That is one of his "moves" so to speak. It does annoy me, because it's simply a distraction from the issue at hand.

Yea, to be agnostic never made sense to me. If your agnostic about god, you're required to be agnostic about everything else..santa, easter bunny, lochness monster, etc. No?

True enough, usually the position is " I don't care", which is pretty nihilistic, yet follow up questions seem to put them into two groups. Atheist or Diest.

Does agnosticism say anything about what you care about? I mean, that's believer's territory, isn't it? Faith is based on how they feel and not on tangible evidence or reason, surely. I don't argue with apologists like the one here - don't have the patience.

I was raised in the church. Brainwashed from birth. I even prayed a few times in my early life. Never once did I imagine I heard answers back. Seriously, now I wonder what kind of a person does it take to be so self assured they are actually having a conversation with the almighty?
