Hello all!
This is my first grow I'm posting on RIU, hope everyone can enjoy!

SETUP:
2ftx3ftx6.5ft grow tent
Lights: 150w hps, a few bloom spectrum 23w cfls, and I have 2, 2bulb t5ho fixtures on there way for supplemental lighting.
Soil: ffof, fflw, and ffhf
Strain: g13 pineapple express, and dinafem blue cheese
Nutrients: technaflora starter kit (great product)

I popped 3 pineapple and 3 blue cheese on the 14th, vegged for 10 days (5-6 inches) and switched to flower on the 25th.

Already, when lights come on, and the tent is opened for the first time in 12 hours, I'm catching those sweet wiffs of growing herb, so I'm pretty excited to see how these strains (mostly indica) grow and how they're gunna run in a SOG setup

I planted all my girls in 3 gallon grow bags. I use ocean forest, light warrior, and happpy frog in specific mixes to utilize them for differant parts of the light cycle. The bottom 1/4 of the bag is straight ocean forest untouched. Then I start with a 50/50 mix ocean forest/light warrior. I'd add 2-3 scoops of soil to each bag, then start adding in happy frog and some more light warrior to my mixing tub, add 2-3 more scoops to each bag, add more happy frog ect. This way, as the plants roots grow deeper down into the soil, they are growing into a more nutrient rich environment. and also, because I germinate straight into the soil in its final grow container, it gives seedlings a chance to grow before having to deal with a hot soil. The light warrior is just used to keep my mix really light to allow for easier root growth.

This is my 4th grow with the 150w and ive always had great success growing single plants into 3-4oz bushes using lst and scrog techniques, so I thought I'd try a go at SOG. I'm hoping for anywhere from 3-6oz, but as long as I make it to harvest successfully I'll be happy! Haha

Any questions or comments welcome! Updates and pics of my setup/girls will be posted tonight once the lights come on!!

sounds good !!!, but you made no mention of fan's (air circulation/ exchange) you will need some type of air exchange. Also lighting will work - but - Remember more light = bigger buds/plant. could add some more -side-lighting because of SOG really not needed but will not hurt

Oh good call! I'll edit my original post to add in ventilation. I forget the cfm of my fan and filter, but it's an inline fan system, sucking straight off the light, through the fan, and pushing out of the carbon filter, with a passive intake that's built into the tent at the bottom.

As for lighting, I did mention I'm addicting in 2 t5ho rigs for side lighting, which will bring an addition 4000 lumens each, giving me a total of about 25,000 lumens with all lights running. It's still only about 4000 lumens per plant, but I'm hoping for sog it'll be enough.

And for 10 days old, my girls have grown bigger, faster than I've ever seen before, with pretty tight nodes. It's been 15 days from seed and they've just started showing sex, my girls are on there 5-6 node, it's crazy. And that's not even with the t5s I've ordered, so I'm pretty excited!

Sub in and checkout my pics tonight! Lights go on in about 8 hours and this is due to be a very interesting grow!

First few pics are just to give an idea of my setup. Agromax (small) tent, 150w hps, inline fan/filter.

Then a few pics of my pride and joys! 3 in the front are the pineapple, the 3 in the back are the blue cheese. The girls are lookin pretty nice for bein only 15 days only old huh?! Can't wait for flower to fully hit.

I'm going to wait until Nov. 1st before I start my "days flowering" count. I figure the first week of 12/12 is a transition phase where it's really not in flower yet. So my official harvest day SHOULD be January 1st (Great late Christmas present for me huh??)

But anyways, sub in, stay tuned, and keep checking for updates everyone! Hopefully gunna be a fun grow!!

that scrog net isn't going to do anything with a multistrain run. you are better off individual staking with bamboo stakes.

pinching stems, supercropping, and keeping fan on your plants will also help them from flopping.

if you decide to keep the scrog maybe just move it up another foot in height

Mr.M, how are the Agromax tents? They look like pretty decent value for money on paper, but I'm not sure whether I should be trying to cut costs on my tent as it's such a hassle to change once up and running (probably looking at a 5x9 when the time comes). I am leaning towards Gorilla right now. But as I say, would appreciate some feedback from someone using Agromax.

Subbed in for your grow. Hope it's a fruitful one.

My only complaint is there are small light leaks all along the stitching. If it's completely dark in the room and your lights are running in the tent, you can see little pin holes along the stitching. Nothing significant, and the passive intake vent is just a mesh, so again with light out it's noticeable. And there's also no insulation or anything so even with the insulated ducting, a moderate humming is heard. So it's not really a stealth thing

But as far as quality it's top notch. it's sturdy as he'll, the inside is all Mylar, it has a removable Mylar lining in the bottom to contain run off and such, all the vent holes line up perfectly, and my whole system is running smooth as he'll. For the money it was deffinantly worth being lazy haha

Day 10 of 12/12.

2 t5ho lights added for side lighting. Plants on the side have taken off in height, while the ones in the middle are staying compact and bushing out. Already I can see the differance in how the t5s affect plant growth.

But overall, with about 24,000 lumens in my tent, I'm happy with my setup.

Also lollipopped my plants, and tucked and trimmed leaves over the past week as my plant grew taller and wider. My scrog net is really helping control upward growth so far. Now it's just a waiting game to fill my net, and wait for buds to start forming!!

These pics are day 25(ish) of flower. Things are lookin good, buds are swelling up nicely, leaves are getting that sugar coating, and a FEW white hairs on the more mature flowers are turning orange.

So far I've been leeching my soil before feeding pretty light nutes (around 700 ppm per feeding). With my soil mix I don't feel I need to add very much nutrients, especially since my girls are only 16-24in tall.

The smells off of each strain are amazing, both completely different. The Blue Cheese is definantly very pungent with an almost sour smell.

The Pineapple Express smells different from plant to plant. Definantly two differant phenos for smell. Two of the 3 smell very fruity and strong, with a slight pine smell you can barely catch. These two pleant have grown slightly bigger, with skinnier leaves. The other pheno smells like straight pine needles, super perfumey, and a little more compact with slightly wider leaves.

Now that I'm coming up on week 4 OF flower, I'll post updates bi-weekly for anyone who cares to check it out!!

Wow looking really healthy! Very impressive grow, how many watts are being used all together with the CFL's?

24,000 lumens all day. My 150w puts out 16,000 by itself, plus each t5 on the side gives off 3000. And honestly, if I never added in the extra CFL, I feel like my whole grow would have been a bust. This is my first time doing6 plants under the 150w, and it definantly isn't strong enough to light up a 2x3 area on its own

Do this is still really impressive for the amount of watts/lumens. You encouraged me to run two plants under mine until I upgrade. Really hope you get a good amount of smoke.

Just a few bud shots

I found what looks like a male pollen sac that had formed overnight on one of the blue cheese girls. I just plucked it off and haven't seen any more since so I hope it doesn't create any problems.

I've been supercropping a lot of my tops, trying to keep everything at an even 24" and have found that every supercropped top has grown exponentially larger than other on the same plant that have not.

I've also noticed the plants under the CFLs are slightly slower in bud growth, but are COVERED in trichs, as opposed to the two under the HPS. I'm thinking it's due to the CFL fixtures having one grow tube and one flower tube. I've heard a mixed spectrum will create enhanced trich production, and it's really the only thing I can think of. The HPSplants have a little frost to them but it's nothing compaired to the ones under the t5 supplements

They are looking good
Is it possible to rotate the plants periodically?
Might be worthwhile to switch them up and possibly even them up.
If u cant rotate the plants maybe rotate the lights

I actually just moved my plants around before I took the pics. I don't move them on a schedule, but if I see one plant really excelling or one that slacking I'll move it around to make sure I'm keeping my canopy even

You'll love the Pineapple Express.....I'm on my 4-5th grow of it and it's my favorite plant to watch grow, and one of my favorites smoking. The smell of this plant is intoxicating. I'll be growing this for a long time.
