White slime mold, Cloner questions

Been having 100% success for the past year, this morning i wake up to my cloner, pump, plugs, filters, hoses EVERYTHING covered in a good 1/8th inch of white slime, everythings cleaned now, but what can i do to prevent this? cloner temps stay at 75, only straight tap water. and i use h202 once a week add about 2 tbs to 10 gal of water. ive been told h202 actually helps the slime grow by killing the chlorine is this true? its a 15 gallon cloner with a water chiller. temps too high?

Any help is appreciated thanks! Also good idea to use pool shock? what should the ratio be for 15 gallons of water.

Do you brew teas? i dont really want to get into that, i already have enough crap going on and i was really enjoying the cloner but now, its turned off waiting for me to figure something out, dont want this to happen again. people are saying a few ounces of pool shock will keep the chlorine stable for the clones and water. i just put a bigger air stone and pump in. What exactly causes white slime to grow?

Chlorine and shock (calcium hypochlorite) when dissolved in water form hypochlorous acid, an oxidizer. H202 is also an oxidizer.

Adding calcium hypoclorite to chlorinated water adds more HOCL adding to its redox potential. The higher the redox potential, the more/faster it will kill pathogens.

However at a certain point it becomes toxic to plants, and a few ounces will surely kill them.

So since i normally at minimum have 10 gallons in the cloner and 15 gallons max would .5 ml of bleach per gal be safe? do i add it regularly? or what would be a safe time frame to add more.

Yes just plain clorox, not the gel, pure concentrate chlorine. no smelly stuff added lol the foam actually comes and goes. it will have a slight flim for a few hours and go away for a while. im not sure whats triggering the random foaming. but i have a tester clone and its already getting white nodes, so something is finally happening again lol

Seems the slime has returned even when using normal amounts of plain clorox. Im at a loss, someone said i can use pool shock and it works better than clorox and faster. Anybody else use pool shock? i really need to beat this slime.

Fought slime and tried running sterile with everything under the sun, chillers, recirc, pool shock...

Benificial bacteria solved my problems and allowed operation sans chiller / recirc.

What would be the best route to go? Guess im going to have to buy stuff to brew now. Never done it, dont even know where to start.

Hi I'm having same problem Foamy with what looks like cloudy snot on the bottom of my net pot. Just cleaned res and added hydroshield. Rinsed pots. Had been using peroxide solution but my understanding is that the hydroshield is beneficial bacteria and didn't want to use peroxide solution if it will kill that off. Anyway that's what I was told to use. I looked into it and have heard a lot of good things. I'll let know if it works for me.

Appreciate it cheers, ive also heard hydroshield to be good but people brew it into a tea with other ingredients to add more variety of beneficial bacteria. I do not know where to start with brewing but if hydroshield works good enough by itself i might just pick some up.

Ive heard nothing but good things from skunk labs nutes so its got 6 tea bags each makes 6 gallons for a total of 36 gallons for 21$ so thats not bad at all seeing you spend 20$ on a bag of ingredients just to brew and you need several teas to make a good colony, i might go ahead and purchase a bag and see what happens.
