Opinions needed for soil grow, pot type/size

Hey everyone I'm finishing up a grow in my 4x4 of GSC, GSC Thin Mint cut, Fuckin Incredible, Purple Dragon, 2 Maui Waui, and 3 Bubba fish.

I usually grow 9 plants SOG under a 750 watt in 3 Gal Fabric Smart Pots.

I'm looking to switch over to a 4 plant SCROG mainly because I will be using Blumats this grow.

My question is can I use the 3 gallon fabric smart pots? or should I plant each in a 10 gallon regular pot that I used for growing one giant plant?
Each plant would be filling up a 2x2 space and be getting to 4.5 ft tall by harvest. I already have 2 Blue Dream and 2 L.A confidential clones in solo cups.

There seems to be a lot of debate, some say too large of containers will hurt your yield. Some say that you can get away with smaller pots if you're using smart pots, etc.

I just don't want to waste soil especially consider my soil is all organic, I have to cook it if they get rootbound. The type of soil I use also claim to last 6 months this isn't too far off from true because I've reused the soil twice with barely any amendments but I'm looking to cook a new batch because of some damn fungus gnats

Just me, but I had problems with blumats. Every so often they wouldn't stop sending water through and I would have a flood. And then they clogged as well.

10 gallons is oversized for sure.as for yield debate it would be hard to convince me of that.2-3 gallon would be fine.my deciding factor would be if you're going to use myco or not and length in time of grow.

Hey buddy I assume youre gonna veg these 4plants for up to 8wks? if thats the case the rule of thumb is 1gal per month of growing so in your case 10gal is way too much, better get 5gal. Not saying you shouldn't do it in 3gal, only that 5gal is better if you can get the pots (& keep using the fabric ones). Good luck

Wow really? Ive heard so many good things. Did you use nutes/teas in the res when you got clogs? I heard you're only supposed to use water and since my supersoil is water only I thought it would be good.

uhh 8 weeks seems kind of long. I was planning to veg for only a month. I've grown a giant 4x4 4.5 feet tall by harvest and I vegged for 8 weeks

Yes. I used nutes with them. Which likely caused the clogs but I think the flooding was more because I use a lot of perlite and vermiculite in my soil. If the sensor hits a air pocket, I think it can happen. But that is just a guess.

One thing, look into using Drip Clean to keep your lines clean.
