Cant figure this out.

This is my second grow. im growing hydro (dwc) using gh nutes. Under a 400w mh in a cool tube.
I went to sleep last night with everything seeming fine, then when i got home from work i saw a bunch of leaves looked like the attached pictures. my ph has been steady around 6.2-6.3 and my ppm is around 900. i use distilled water and add cal mag...so i have no idea what it could be.
p.s. Ive checked for mites/ black dots under the leaves and cant find anything. I keep my room pretty clean.

I thought in hydro the ph was supposed to be around 5.8?

You might be locking out some nutes...

Wait for a hydro guy to answer, but that's the first thing that pops to my mind.

Agree with above i am not a hydro guy but your ph is to high stay between 5.2-5.8 i believe is your target numbers

My understanding is that it's going to climb over 6.0 as the nutes get absorbed and you can't help that...

But that you should be setting it around 5.5 and letting it climb that high naturally, not just letting them swim in 6.3 for the whole grow. Heck the juice I give my plants in soil is probably lower than 6.3 sometimes :)

Again, let's get some experienced DWC growers in here to comment on this... but I am thinking your ph is where to start.

^^no was just wondering had rt rot pop up on me really quick once and my leafs looked like they had every deficiency possible.....And personally i have never had a problem w/ a ph floating in the low 6's myself but maybe with different nute's or something that could be possible and something might be getting locked out

Climbing to the low 6's, or staying stable there? From the OP it sounded like he was ph'ing it to 6.3 and leaving it there...

In hydro, at the ph you are at, Phosphorus, Potassium and Zinc are locked out. P and K lock out at 6 and above, Zinc at 5.7 and above, which is why you want your ph dancing between 5.3 and 5.8. Calcium, Iron, Manganese, Boron, Copper and Molybdenum are less available at 6.1 and higher. Lower your ph, your leaves look like ph imbalance and beginning of P deficiency

Thanks for the quick answers guys...ill report back in a few days and let you know the results after i fix the ph...1 more question. Should i cut off the leaves that have been affected by the ph issue or just leave them to die on there own?

Leave them. They might not ever recover, but until you get it worked out they will still help act as buffers... chop em off and the only place for a deficiency to go next is your healthy leaves...

pH is supposed to be 5.8 to 6.5 in hydro. You will get fluctation. I know I have to use pH down in my dwc. I have finally got it under 6.5. My plant looked really good even with higher pH levels but I was flipping to flower and adding those nutes made it even higher. Now, I also have plants in soil. One in particular is showing that same issue you are having. Water was going in at 7.1 (great for soil), but coming out at 4.8... extremely low. I flushed and now things are better.
And guys.. coming from a woman, there's a right woman... just doesn't last forever.
