Is it possible to test the cobs without mounting to a heat sink? I'm not sure when I will have to time to get this light fully constructed but I wanted to verify that the CXA's would at least fire up, just for a second or so. That way if I had issues with any of them I could notify the seller before it was too late to do anything. Also like many others on here I am planning on using the Arctic cpu coolers, if these fans go out will the heat fry the CXA with a max 1.4 mA or will the sink be enough to dissipate the heat without a fan?

@I Hate Usernames Yes you can test them with alligator clips, just make sure it is only for a split second and at as low of a current as possible. For the record, out of 230 CXA3070s I have bought so far, not a single one has been defective

Wow..that's the best price I've seen on those. You could make a nice light with that. It'd be maxed out with 3070s though.

Ya great deal especially because we are kind of at a loss for good 1050mA drivers other than the HLG-185H. CXA3070 Vf at 1050 should be about 36.25 warmed up. I have a similar Inventronics driver with 700mA X 4. It i spower factor corrected and warmed up it is 89% efficient.

Anybody tried any drivers from this company http://www.aliexpress.com/store/346689 ? They seem pretty good, can't find much info though. Only AliEx ratings and I don't know how reliable they're.

that picture had several amp outputs depending on the picture, which one is right? 1.05 or 0.7

Good catch I didnt notice that. The description model number indicates 1050mA. I will email the seller to verify which one it is.
When I tested the 700mA version I was somewhat disappointed with the efficiency (88%) with one CXA on each channel(34Vf). As you can see the 700mA version goes up to 57V. Maybe the efficiency would improve if I pushed it closer to max but testing that was kind of a pita so I didnt bother. It needs to have every channel loaded in order to operate. Anyway, it would be easier to run the 1050mA version closer to max to find out the efficiency.
