Yep. H3PO4 is a decent pH down. Use it when you also want P.

Nitric acid H2NO3 is the best pH down. Use when you want to fix very hard tap water, or when you want to add N.

Thanks for the heads up. Since such tiny amounts of nutrients are added with the pH down, it just doesn't matter what their main constituent is as long as it isn't poisonous.

I tried battery acid, sulfuric acid. I diluted four to one and it's a bit weaker than the store brands, maybe 20%. At $8 for the gallon I made, it's also less than a third the cost.

Usually people are going to buy PH DOWN, not many buy PH UP, I have never used, I feel my water never appear PH, too.

Try to avoid pH up like the plague. It takes chelated nutrients like iron out of solution.
