I am not one to support LP's. I want to grow my own permanently as should be my right. However I was talking to one of their growers or "grilling him harder than toronto's finest" as he put it lol. He was buying at a compassion club I frequent Lmao. To their defense it was kind of their qa guys fault that they have to irradiated.
Health Canada iso apparently very liberal is allowing LPs to choose which pharmacopeia they adhere to. Apparently the US pharmacopeia is pretty lax and allows for fairly high limits in the testing process. However their qa guy (having no weed experience) chosee to go with the Dutch pharmacopeia (which is very strict) when they originally submitted their application. The Dutch pharmacopeia isn't suited for plant testing as weed inherently has high humidity and bacteria levels.
Also they in fact did produce 2 crops that met the Dutch requirements and were not irradiated, however they did not advertise this as they didn't want to set this standard and not be able to meet it in the future.

Lol. I'm just relaying what I was told. Don't shoot the messenger. I'm not sure if I believe it myself. On the other hand 2 good crops out of 20+ is nothing to be proud of either

I do not believe the American pharmacopoeia option is approved by Health Canada.

Same old same old. Nothing will ever change with Large Growing Operations. It CAN'T. It's not feasible and they'll figure out, if they don't already know. Their hands are tied.
The feds will be forced, to stop fighting their losing battle. When they realize how much ccccash is on the line that they could possibly lose! Thank you judge judy

...within a selected group approved by HC I think. Pretty sure the US is not on that approved list.

Yeah the AHP C.I. QC Monograph wasnt ready in time and was not on the list for LP's to use.

Ahhhh I see. OK, well then I'm not sure if there is one more stringent than the US and less than the Dutch that would allow them to pass on a regular basis. Kinda bullshit tho, as there should be a standard that all lp's should have to meet.

You're correct, there should be one standard that all LPs have to meet...too much effort required for HC I guess.

But I mean that would make it easier for HC right? They wouldn't have to run around comparing test results to individual LP's chosen pharmacopeia. It would simply be a pass/fail. It's like they want this ssystem tied up in court for the next few years

That would have required HC to actually develop an intimate understanding of the plant, how to produce it, how patients use it and what constitutes "reasonable". HC , as it always has, did as little as possible to facilitate a smooth and sensible cannabis access program.
