I'm running 2 dwc buckets for mother plants my plants are about 6 week into vegg on a 18/6 light, feeding around 600 to 700 ppm of botincare line bites with 100ppm cal/mag , and Ro water , my buckets are clear white roots fast growth but I'm starting to realize some problems some upper growth appearing to have no life if somebody has had or nos what this could be I would appreciate it thanx

Ya, totally could be lack of light. Why would you keep a mother in dwc though? Seems like a dirt job to me so youll have less work.

I havent used just a 400 in quite some time but never had issues with it doing multiple plants as far as issues go. What is your ph?

Just opinion, but six weeks into veg and you're hitting them w/ 700ppm, maybe a little more sauce and light. 900ppm wouldn't be too much for six week veg plants. Are you supplementing ambient co2? Do you have fans blowing on them? Night temp? They look pretty large and it looks like you have floros, either you need a light with more penetration like an hps or mh, get your florescents closer, or clear out some of your old leaves.
Bring the light closer and get rid of the leaves that aren't getting any light and you probably wont have to worry about bumping up the ppms. You said they are mothers. So a few missing leaves isn't gonna shock them too hard. Its not like they are in flower. I usually bend the old darker leaves backwards and if they are no longer young an flexible, they snap. If they don't snap, I leave them. Get it "leave" them? I am so witty sometimes. I'm pretty sure this is not one of those times.
If you wanna spend some money then I'd add an oscillating fan, add some silica, supplement their co2, and give them girls some more light. Just opinion.

LOL

But on a serious note, you're not foliar treating with ph down, are you?
Never heard of that before .. I foliar feed one time with vitamino, things are better thinking tho I'm not supplementing enuff nitrogen now , never took care of plants this size in veg

Hey bud,
Your having issue with pH, using less nutrient will help you with this. The plant otherwise looks awesome. Its super dark green, that's why I'm telling you to back off some, its obviously healthy you just need to get your swings worked out at this point.

That's what I was thinking but my ph stays pretty good I set it at 5.4 and by the third water refill about half a gallon a day with RO and 100 ppm cal/mag it's only swung to about a 6 ever scent I turned up the light it's looking better but I'm pretty sure im getting s nitrogen problem .

let your Ph rise to above 7 before you drop it. i feed on my downstrokes for pH balance and let it go again. you honestly want to the plant to experiance the full range of the pH swing from 5.6 to 7.1 un down up down.
also fedings should be small and often or this to work

Ol so I did a res change last night , set ph to 5.4 now your saying to let it swing to a 7 and then change again?? Also I don't feed in between res changes just and back cal:mag to my Ro water .. Should I not just don't want to get a mag problem going on

yes wait till the swing is done. Then add more nutes to drop the pH Your cal mag should be added in direct proportion to the nutrients. Dont get humg up on feeding with res changes, try to follow how much the plants are using.

yes, bring it down R/o is about 5.7 ish should be lower than 7 though. using water with pH of 7 is like hitting FF in the process
Yea my Ro filter adds back some minerals that bring the ph up for the alkalinity up in the water , but thanx again for your help
