The older I've gotten the more it's become clear that OPSEC is priority #1 if you intend to break laws no matter how Unconstitutional or stupid they may be. No IFs ANDs or BUTs about it. Trust no one, tell no one.
If you don't know what OPSEC is, spend 5 minutes and google it to learn. Worth your time.
Hopefully you can walk away from this and start fresh in another location, good luck.

Illinois, heh? Let me tell you my story. The year was 1975, the year before the Bicentennial, Bohemian Rhapsody had just been released, and I was an 18 year-old stupid know it all. I hitchhiked to Wisconsin, Beloit, Wis. As I walked through the small downtown, I saw a hemp plant growing out of the bottom of a parking meter. I picked it and ran back to the hobo camp I was staying at. I showed everyone and was told that the stuff wouldn't get me high and it grew wild in these parts. I was shown a place on the other side of the tracks where there was an empty lot full of it. We picked a bunch and smoked it. It was the best sore throat I ever had! The rest of the stuff I put in my backpack and forgot about. Forgot about it, until about a month later a cop outside of Dixon, Illinois went through my stuff. He found a dirty, rumpled paper bag full of The Devil's Weed and I was instantly in jail. Because they had found 33 grams of high quality ditch weed, I was forced to plead guilty to a felony, to avoid a 1 to 10 year prison sentence. Forty years later and I'm still a convicted felon.

Court tomorrow....Talked with lawyer today and he got wind that they were going to try and get me with a felony (intent to deliver) which is complete fuckin bullshit, but we are entering a plea deal. Should be court supervision and no felony charge. We'll see....

Court is over for the next year! One of the charges was dropped and the other two I pleaded guilty to. I got 1 yr of court supervision, that's it. Pretty much, I can't get arrested. I don't have any drug testing or anything else. Woooooo.
Fines were only $500 but these court costs were another $1600. With my lawyer and everything else, this bullshit cost me about $3600, but glad it's mostly over. Just have to stay out of trouble (shouldn't be difficult since I never got in any trouble until I was ratted out).

I'm sorry this happened to you. But I don't see how you can claim this was your sisters fault. She wasn't growing the plant, you were. Her ex snitched, he's partially to blame. You take the other part for participating in it.
I don't say this to start drama, so please don't take it like that. Had a very similar situation with my sister 7 years ago. Haven't talked to her since. Regret it everyday.

so pick up the phone and talk to her... don't blame your regrets on him... unless you legit think growing a plant is a criminal offense in which case nvm; granted that is good advice to not throw his relationship away with his sister... i just disagree with blaming someone who had no control over the actions that caused the negative shit to occur... which clearly is the police/state/idiots who vote for bad laws/and the rat who told the police... that is where the real blame is if you ask me
