So i order seeds here and there when I need to. I always shy away from the expensive seed for ex. were 5 seeds is like 150 dollars etc. In yalls experience does the higher dollar seeds actually better quality or it is it more of someone names your paying for. i dont mine 50-80 for a pack but i can't see spending 120+ for 5 seeds do yall prefer to buy the more expensive shit due to quality or whats yalls experience it the more expensive is better ill try a pack but would like some feedback

Personally I haven't found any correlation between price and quality. Price and hype, yes..... but not quality.

Female Seeds, Sannies/Breeders Choice/Dynasty/Eskobar, and Peak Seeds BC are all good examples of inexpensive seeds where you stand just as good (if not better) a chance of finding a great plant as you would with a pack that is triple the price.

As a newer grower I have always wondered this very question myself OP. Obviously there are great budget options out there with solid genetics but do some of the top dollar strains actually warrant their price tag?

I buy the inexpensive beans for now until I at least know what I am doing and am confident I can push the genetics to their full potential.

that old american adage, "you get what you pay for". While in general that does hold true, sometimes the top dollar stuff isn't actually worth it.

I have found that the worst beans have been the most expensive. Why you might ask? Well that comes with an expectation that the plants coming from those expensive beans should be more productive and higher quality than any of the cheaper stuff. However I have found absolutely 0 correlation between cost and benefit. It is almost like over hyping a movie and then you go to see it and you think it sucks. It is a bigger let down for me coming from something I paid 20 bucks for rather than something I paid 5 bucks for.

In short - price is only important when it comes to what you want. If you specifically want ak47 you might have to pay more for the "right one" however if your just looking for good buds it can be found in the cheapest of packs. Even bag seed can turn into epic weed machine!

buying any priced seeds is a crap shoot. i have gotten bad beans from high priced and low priced ones. ALL, bean vendors are gonna have a certain amount of unsatisfied customers. try some middle of the road stuff, and go from there.

A lot of it is hype and how many middle-men are involved. Buy straight from the breeder at www.peakseedsbc.com and get excellent deals for top of the line genetics that have been expertly worked. Prices are negotiable too if you want to buy in quantity and go pheno hunting.

Have you grown their Blueberry Couchland? If so any info would be appreciated. I loved their Northern Skunk!

Just mailed in my $40 to them today....

I have, it's really good. I'm more of a sativa smoker though. His Sweet Skunk is close to perfect. Are you a "preferred customer"? Take him up on that, great deals and freebees.

I'm not. I got the pack of Northern Skunk from a head shop in Windsor ON that I used to drive across the border to from Detroit before I got hip to ordering beans online. If this Blueberry is good I'm sure I'll have preferred status pretty quickly! :eyesmoke:

Thanks for the heads up on the sweet skunk

i have bought the expensive seeds before and was so so...the description was more hype than real facts,.,,we would hype them our selves it we were the breeder....

Now some of the less expensive seeds I been more than happy with are Female seeds...Eva seeds..sannies...Royal Queen...I got some seeds called porno seeds...i was really surprised how well they did..some good head ripper strains...and cheap..I dont think they are around any more...

Peakseedsbc preferred customer deals are fuckin great! From my experience and to my knowledge you will get a free random pack of beans with every order, but no clue if this is a hardfast rule.

I'd also like to add. I speculate beans with a ridiculous price tag will "sit on the shelf" much longer than fairly average priced beans. So maybe there is actually a higher chance of these being duds?

agree I usually order normal price beans and have no bad luck with him I have never ordered expensive beans as I cant afford them. I how was on the tude today looking at the beans and couldn't believe how expensive some were. So I figured I would ask thabks for the replies and thanks @Couchland for the website

from what i was told. is.. this is FROM A BREEDER who sells packs a lil higher priced then most..

he was saying.. for REG BEANS his beans are cheaper.. because.. he can make more beans.. then when u reverse a female.. u dont get nearly as much pollen.. so u get alot less beans.. and alot of people.. will price there seeds according to how many they made and how much it cost them to make them....

but .. it depends.. honestly. im ordering some RARE DANKNESS . Ghost Train HAZE.. not sure which 1 i want yet gotta do a lil research.. butttt from what i seen and tasted a few days back.. and then after hearing that an extractions lab in seattle.. was guarenteeing there clients 20%.. and hitting 30% .. and they get to keep the extra 10%. .. after hearing that. i think ill test a few packs lol.

Considering the fact that if you know what you are doing, you can get as high as 5-6 ounces off a plant indoors and up to a few pounds off of one plant outdoors. Not only that but, I can make crosses, cuttings, and even feminized seeds of regular strains. So, I can make thousands of dollars off of one seed! Seeds are still cheap as hell. People really need to shut the fuck up about prices.

In a lot of cases it's nothing but hype. In my opinion: Soma, RP, RD and TGA are all examples of seeds that are priced based on their brand name, not their quality.

i have heard more than a few times that subcool's gear is mostly "all show, and no go." this was like 6-7 years ago. no, i've never grown any of it out, but i heeded the warning....

I would agree that his strains lack potency, although excel in flavor & aroma. Chernobyl is a strain I love but even the best representations of it aren't the strongest. The various others I've had are just tasty. Jack the ripper definitely can stick it to yah though.
