after shooting the unarmed man for complying, they handcuffed him, took him to a hospital, handcuffed him to his bed, and forgot about him until midnight, leaving him handcuffed the whole time.

I don't see anything wrong with what the guy did in the video. He was quickly replying to the cops request of "Can I see your ID, please" as he was getting out of the cruiser. Further, if I was the one getting shot, I'd be wailing like a Ferrengi. This dude was able to not only keep his hands up, but then continue to follow instructions.

The cop shoulda waited to give instructions until a time that he is ready for those instructions to be carried out.

Seat belt stops are lame, too. I don't mind if they add it to a more serious offence, but stopping people for that alone is chicken shit fishing IMO.

In fairness, given the propensity for firearm ownership in the US he should've told the cop he was going for his wallet.

But the cop way overreacted like a dick either way... Your country is just mental.

Let me start off with IN NO WAY DO I BLAME THE VICTIM IN THIS!!! Cop screwed up majorly in every aspect of how that was handled.

The right thing to do when you are pulled over is Stay in your car with your HANDS on the steering wheel. Do not even roll down the window until he is standing next to you. They are looking for your hands as they walk up behind you. Make sure they can see them at all times. Cops are mostly chickenshit bullies. Do not give them a reason to do something stupid. Be slow and intentional and assure them that you are not a threat.

I think having to recite commands like you are on a submarine is a bit much, but yeah. People can be mental.

Your cops do seem like dicks tho, our cops are just uppity country boys that were never out of their shitty village before becoming a pig.

They are 90% unarmed tho, so basically no accidental shootings.

America, probably more so than any other country in history, loves to breed things bigger and better. It's what we do. That includes our criminals.

It'd be great if cops didn't need to carry a gun, but they do. Eventually something like the Miami shootout happens and they decide they need something more. As a cop in America today, I would carry a gun.

I've known a few cops over my time. None of the ones I knew personally were dicks, and all but one that has pulled me over were professional. The one that was kinda psycho didn't even carry tickets and was in an unmarked car. I was doing 82 in the carpool lane as a single passenger during rush hour. To top it off, I was in a company truck without registration in it. He just pulled me over to yell at me and run a warrant check. He was totally right to pull me over, but he spoke to me as if he was utterly disgusted with my actions.

But there is no question about it, there are plenty of outright assholes in uniform. Even their coworkers can identify them, and often do.
