I am just wondering if there are others out there like me

ones who will try out a company for a few different strains to see what they have but I only run a strain one time and if it has hermies or bad germ rate I won't grow them again.

I have only experienced a bad germ rate with very few beans I have bought but I have noticed that freebies tend to pop less. Now my most famous is cali connection with the hermies but there are other companies even TGA throws out some balls with their crosses.

I don't go back, you herm on me once shame on you. You will never herm on me again.

Ive had herms pop up from pretty much every breeder Ive grown. I think it is a lot more common than people think, most times it is just not bad enough to notice or care about. If you boycott every breeder that has plants that herm then your gonna hit a wall pretty quick.

If it is the first time that I have ran a strain and it herms out bad, i will never run that strain again. If it throws like one or two nanners at like week 7, i will just pluck em off and I am ok with that. But if I am chasing nanners at like week 3 or 4, then the plant gets pulled and I will not run it again.

I dont hold it against breeders unless I find a common theme that everything I run by them throws nanners. I have as of yet boycotted a breeder.

I am with ya! if the strain herms out bad (early on) on me I will not run it again. I will try the breeder again but if I get herms out of a different strain then they are done.

I really won't bother with any breeder that releases utter shit strains. Tells me they don't care enough to do actual work.

I'd check your environment. I've gotten nanners on only a few plants due to my errors (heat, light poisoning, small pots) and a couple of strains were simply natural hermies.

The numbers of plants I grow is so small that a plant throwing nanners can set me back a while and leave me without my meds. So breeders get one chance from me.

The way I see it is If I get herms in my garden then they didn't test the gear in their garden, that's unacceptable to me. Every plant needs to be worth growing to me, doesn't have to be the best smoke in the world, my standards really aren't that high, but it needs to finish with buds on it and not filled with seeds.

This does not exclude myself from responsibility, one can always fuck up and force male parts to show, but if a plant is going healthy and throws balls out of no where I am pretty much done with that breeder.

I'm actually in the process of deciding what to do with a hermie now. I don't really have anything to replace it with so I'm letting it go and picking off what I find. Thought it was good but picked off two more balls so it's probably getting scrapped. This was a full on hermie, it wasn't throwing banana's but showing male and female preflowers before I even switched to 12/12.

If you're messing with something like Girl Scout Cookies you should expect hermies, strains like GSC were made by hermies so it's going to show up sometimes in the plants. It's really whether or not the end products worth dealing with the bullshit. Or risking the rest of your garden for that one plant.

Right there with ya brother. My space is far too small to deal with strains known to intersex. While I doubt I've had the real GSC, I am sure there are better strains that don't hermi. To each their own.

I always try to keep a close eye on my garden. Particularly since I'm running testers and also in the future with the Malawi, as sativas can get finicky.

Usually I can tell where I made a mistake, and usually if I find a bean or two in a bud I can locate where the male flower came from. I've been lucky in only having isolated spots and again knew it was from my mistakes as they didn't occur again when ran properly

Yup most all strains have balls/herm chance...I did some tigers milk,had balls on the first set,picked them off,even at the end I found a few banners...smoke and plants was still good,and I got a few packs of tigers milk,after that grow...

Now I sit with 40 or so of his work,very happy.

For me, it depends on the quality of the smoke. I had a girl/he-she throw out a few seeds but the smoke was the best I've had. It was supposed to be a fem seed but there was an issue. I don't know if it was an error on my part or the breeder but I do know that I'll have a bag of top shelf, regardless! Now if she is full of balls or has balls with some type of deformity then I'll retire her. Its like a give and take relationship. We should all remember that just because one plant loves your environment doesn't mean the next one will. Coming from different climates makes the chances of problems rise.

If a strain herms out on me I don't hold it against the breeder, if multiple strains such as the 5-7 cc I have tried herm I will drop the breeder.

If you need me to drive a short bus to you and explain in person you might get a frying pan to the face.

Its not the environment, If I had to guess it would be that I usually pick Og,haze,and chem strains to grow which have a higher propensity to intersex. Also I usually pop multiple packs of a strain at a time so the odds are higher of encountering herms.

I paid (once upon a time,no more) good money for expensive strains and got tired of bad genetics...I have found several breeders that produce solid stuff but as I have yet to see anyone mention anyone by name, I'm not going to be the first here to do so...just sayin San*** has some solid stuff....Positr***** has been a real positive surprise and Barne** of Amsterdam even dealt some good genetics..I know.people hate em..but I've had good experiences with them.....just sayin. I witheld the negatives..only the positves mentioned here..

Fair enough if you are running strains that are known to sometimes intersex. I flower multiple strains and don't have any problems (unless of course I allow them). I know outdoor growers face nature and have less control but indoors, we are gods. Indoor growing problems can be solved if you put the resources into them. When I had a heat problem, I could have dimmed my lights or hung my carbon filter up (which I eventually did resulting in 10 degree drop in temps).
