The Main-Lining Thread

Overall the canopy is fairly even, WW, C1, C3, and C5 are all even with the ring, the other two are very close. Getting some very good growth so they should all be above the ring when I go to 12/12 this coming week. Great even color and growth, no problem to date. I am concerned with the coir, it seems to hold nutes. EX. Have been watering/feeding with 900 to 1000 ppm, but the rinse coming out of the drain hole has been 1200 to 1300 ppm. I have been using plain pH'ed water ever other time. I am not seeing any problems for that, no burning or leaf curling.

Yes but it was cheap, I have had to expensive fans larger than this one and hell they didn't last a full grow. This works fine, I have another 6" in there also.

Yeah i got mine because it was cheap like 20 bucks and it does the job really well..just that its built really bad and 100% plastic. That is all.

Good job with the girls you should see some good stretch and then some nice uniform colas. Mine are 2 weeks away and have swelled a lot.

Today is day 5 of 12/12, started flower after exactly 2 months of veg, growing in 2 gal. Hempy buckets and Mainlining all plants. I like the structure, and they are started to stretch. My CLW SS400 is 18" from the plants tops. One thing that is strange, C1 leaf color is not as dark as the other CC/BBGA plants and it is the one that it's leaves are curly like. The others are like regular indica cannabis leaves. Hoping it is a fem, should be real nasty buds.
The WW is showing sex, a fem., not sure about the rest yet. Feeding every 36 hrs. and tucking leaves, way to many plants for my space. Hope they all show sex soon so I can reduce the number of plants in there, hoping for 3 to 4 fems, if I get more then I will put them up for adoption.

WW is 23" from floor, 15" from top of mix, the rest are around 19 inches from floor and 11 inches from mix, except C2 is 15" from floor and 8" from mix.

Eight days and the WW is the only one lifting her dress and showing her sex. Nasty, LOL.

The others are looking just fine, but no show of sex yet.

Gave them 1150 ppm, pH 5.63 today, using Maxibloom @ 4g per gallon, Koolbloom (liquid) @ .75 tsp per gallon and Cal/Mag @ 1tsp per gallon.

Hope the CC/BBGA show soon, need the space in the cabinet for what ladies that may happen.

Three for sure fems, two more I believe are fems and one, C3, had balls. Not any more, part of compost pile.
I can confirm that 5 of the 6 are females, only one male, that's cool.
Now to decide which one's I will keep and which I will give away.

Day 16 of 12/12!

Just maneuvering branches and leaves. May do some light pruning at day 20, any suggestion on this are welcome. These three fill the 7.7 sq ft cabinet well. Get new light this week, going with a 400W HPS in a 6" cool tube, new 6" fan and filter. I am going to empty the old 4" charcoal filter, keep the pre-filter on it and use it as a pre-filter before the cabinet. This old carpet, in the room I am pulling the air from, produces too much dust and blocks the little pre-filter i have on there now, only 12 sq in of pre-filter. New pre-filter will be 240 sq in of surface area. Should keep most dust out and not have to be changed every few days like I do now.
All are 18 to 20 inches tall from the soil line.

C5 left front, C3 right front, and WW in the back.

Today I installed the new Cool Tube/400W HPS and new 6" Phresh filter. I did not install the new 6" fan, wanted to see how my old 4 inch fan will work with the new setup. I am pulling air into the cabinet via a 4' line the 6" filter is attached to the 6" cool tube the stepped down from the 6" cool tube to the 4" fan and the air exits the cabinet via a 4 inch duct.
I may at some point install the 6" fan but it is noisy and so far the 4" is keeping the cabinet at 81 degrees and 51% humidity, and that is better than it was doing with the big LED.

I am 20 days into 12/12 so curious to see how the new light effect the grow. It puts out a massive amount of light, and I have it at about 12 inches above the top of the canopy. The temperture at the top of the canopy is 83, heck I think I can get the light closer. Any opinions on the height I should have the light from the plants. Going to research it tonight.

Peace out,

GR

Hello there!

A humble question for those that are open and able to help. I am a little bit unsure about one point of the main lining technique. Once you get your 8 mains going strong on vegetavite state, you trim all other outgrowth other than fan leaves from your mains? You do this all thoughout the vegetative, flowering phase? That means that the plant will only have 8 mains producing colas and all other side branckes will be continually trimed away? Just want to clarify this point to make sure I get it right.. ;)

Thanks!

I have found that keeping the fan leaves helps the growth through flip. Then I start trimming away any side flowers and small growth. I let a few nodes grow out before I top each time to give short plants more length. Then I just trim away any growth that is taking away energy from the mains when the flowers are getting half way done.
