Harvesting too early\too late?

Hey guys, I have a question regarding harvest time. I have a jack herrer plant flowering for 6 1\2 weeks.
It seems like it has a few weeks to go but I'm going to have a heart surgery sometime next week or in two weeks. I would not be able to harvest the plant for ATLEAST a week and a half after surgery and I'm affraid it would be too late. so what do you say should I harvest too early or take a chance and hope it won't be late in like 4 weeks?
take into consideration I would need at least a few days to dry the buds.
forgot to mention, the trichs are about 70% cloudy 30% clear

Thanks for the quick replies mates
If I were to harvest it almost a month from now will it be ruined? because the problem is I still don't have a date for the procedure and I am unaware of the exact recovery time.

If I had to choose between too early and too late, I'd go with too late. Too early and I get jumpy, anxious. Too late and worst case you'll have some good late night knock out weed.

Good luck with your surgery mate! I have a friend who just went through open heart surgery in July for a valve replacement and he made a very quick recovery, he was out and walking around within a week. I have very strong reasons to believe marijuana helped extraordinarily with the recovery

If you don't have a date set then why rush? I would chop the night before or the week after...
Because it will take me a few weeks to recover from the surgery till I can walk and harvest the plant.

Agreed. I like a good amount of amber for a sedated high. I don't like that anxious/awkward high.
I actually like to be active and focused while high...:bigjoint::hug:
but if the plant would not die in a month from now I would harvest it then.
Or maybe I could harvest like half of the plant a bit early and leave the rest to mature and be more sedative?

That's not a bad idea man, that way you have 1/2 put away safe. Good luck on both the harvest and the surgery:leaf:

All three man, he completely quit drinking for about a year when they told him how bad his heart was them he went into surgery after losing about 200 lbs. Never quit smoking other than for the period he was in the hospital and he's been doing wonderful, dude smokes like a god damn chimney. But make your own educated decision, don't just take my word for it, everyone is different. If you smoke just take small little hits and see where it takes you. You will be fine man, procedures have excelled in that area

Thanks dude I think I'll just stick to vaping and edibles maybe just a puff here and there to be safe.

Thanks I think that's what I'll do :weed:

I visited my plant today and found amber trichoms.
Not much maybe 5% the rest is like 70% cloudy 30% clear. She doesn't look ready though... what do you think?

From looking at the pictures and what i have experienced with sativas, you have a month to go, at least. Do you possibly have a trustworthy friend, family member, partner, associate etc to care-take over the plant while you're recovering? That Jack is off to a great start btw:)
