My friend said he's done this for years. A flush I guess.
Chops all the stems off and sets the end in 5 gallon buckets of water for 48 hours in dark. Even submerge bottom buds no problems.
When I asked him why he couldn't really answer just said it's the way he does it.
His stuff speaks for itself it's good but I am still questioning his techniques. Anybody else hear of this or try it?

slower death, helps ready the plants hormones into senesence.

darkness helps with no more photosynthesis and new chlorophyll. smoother smoke. the bucket of water is a waste of time however.

It's a long read but I tried this and was pleased. My motivation was more to remove and/or hopefully kill any little critters before bringing my modest outdoor harvest indoors to dry.

Here is the very short summary:

4 buckets total. (5 gallon buckets are perfect)

Bucket 1: 3 parts RO water to 1 part 3% H202.
Bucket 2: 5 gallons of RO with 1 cup baking soda, 1 cup Lemon Juice
Buckets 3 and 4: RO only.

30 Seconds Each Bucket

Some florists take cut flowers and put them in a vase with food dye which then colors the petals of the flower, in cannabis, it would work in reverse, pulling the chlorophyll and salts from the buds and leaves into the water until they are at nearly an equal level. then you change the water and leech more salts, it is a type of water cure.

Good looking out brother, great info there. Just asked him he says it's not to clean the outsides, it's the insides like a flush I guess.

He just said basically the same thing you did, pulls out salts, thank you for the great reply!

Water curing is a real thing look it up!! Are his buds extra brown?

Ive known some folk to get a needle and poke the shit out of the stems where they are under water, it seems to help speed up the process.

Thanks good advice! He is not necessarily trying to cure during this time but I suppose it helps. I am familiar with the water cure tech, he only does 2 days and he doesn't try to put bud in water just works out that way for bottom buds
