Anyone here live in Alaska? I am entertaining a Job in Barrow. Worked in Kodiak years ago fishing. But Barrow is kind of out there. Can anyone tell me about it? Thanks.

You wanna be like one of them refugees in Alaska the Last Frontier?
No. A very good job opportunity. Is a 1 year commitment. If I like it I can stay longer. It is kind of a bucket list thing. Looking at it on the web. It is PHUCKING COLD there.

Sounds like a fucking awesome time to me! further the better!
Ya. It is not like you can hide in the woods. It is the Tundra. High summer temps are only like 50. That's only for a couple of months. No roads in or out. Either air or sea.

I lived in norway and scotland a wee while combined, Unfortunately for me i lived in the rainiest parts of both countries. In winter the darkness can really get to you if you have no weed, a good thing about the cold is that you can always burn a bigger fire put more clothes on or get an extra woman in your bed. Sometimes i think i miss the cold. Its fucking september and ive been pretty much in just shorts since april, its not like i can tear skin off to get cooler. I still need to re aclimatize.
To be honest man if youre gonna go as a bucket list type deal id definetly reccomend you do the alaskan refugee situation for a year somewhere in the sticks where youd get to experience real alaskan life for a that time. Id be up for that actually but id really need a weed situation sorted otherwise i couldnt hack the winter simple as.

Oh and Klite. I have been there before. Not Barrow but pretty far in the sticks and the selection of women is not very good. I imagine I will go without while there. Unless I import one.

simple,

buy a snugge wear that bitch 24/7 and constantly jerk off to maintain body temp

oh and being fat helps too :p and i got that covered

i live in Florida now and its fucking awful like high humidity and 100 weather and ass sweat out the wa zoo man

Virginia was nice and always at like 75ish degrees but the winter would have northerners crying cuz not many salt trucks and theres always fucking black ice

i mean there could be no water on the roads but there would still be that negro ice threatening good hard working white Americans

Well only a couple of hours to decide. It sure looks desolate there. Bet hunting and fishing is good. Like to learn a lot of the Native ways there. Damn it looks cold.

I was on an off for 13 months in my last fly-in camp. Cold as fuck. Buuuut - really the coolest thing in the world sometimes.

The Northern lights - are something from another world.

Get a REALLY good and warm jacket, boots, gear - whatever. Then you can do anything. I recommend dog sledding and skijoring.

This is probably 'Emerican skijoring:

Ice fishing

Snow-shoeing

Cross-country skiing

Ice Climbing

There's Loads to do. All outside - and All put hair on your chest!

Oh fuck - snowmobiles!

Or do you call them "snow machines"? I think the Thunder Bayites call them that...

Satellite internet is a must, so you don't feel cut off completely. And Skype is the fucking best.

There were months when I was away that I kept in better contact with my long-distance friends and family than I would when I was at home.

Dude, you can handle pert near anything for a year. Do it and have a blast
Well it might be a little bit further out then I want but if I do like it it will open a lot of doors there for me. I am in Cali and really want to leave. I have 6 kids and 3 grandkids. I would miss them but I only see 2 kids and there babies the others not very often. They all like the outdoors so maybe that would get them around more.
They told me I must be there at months end to start on the first. They said the place will all be froze in by then.

If it's good money go for it. 50/50 split whether you'll regret it. Won't know if you don't try..
Yes the money will be well in the 6 figure range. I have looked at jobs there before. You take the top pay in the lower 48 and double or triple it and that is what they pay there. Money don't make the world go round but it sure greases the wheels. I will most likely be working 6-7 days a week for awhile. Plus handling things here. If I don't screw around it will be done by the time I leave but no room to play for now.
Got to call them................25 minutes.........

....oh wait...I see she's met YOU before...
HAHA. No I have never met her. I always thought she was kind of Hot. Maybe she has seen me somewhere???? She must be a perv. I heard she was single again.....Hmmmm.

Well it is NORTH to Alaska. I was sounding wishy washie and they threw in a new snow machine. How can you say no to that. Thank goodness I have no plants to care for right now.

Kind of scary and exciting at the same time. Don't know what I am getting into except COLDDDDD.
