Does the intake need to be a high velocity as well or can it be a lower rated like a 250 cfm? It says 250 cfm but doesn't feel like it at all. I would like to see a diagram of a 4 x 8 tent with 2 reflectors and an intake and exhaust fan set up if possible.

Just like you have the fan blowing air across you need to attach ducting to the end of the fan and bring the air from outside the tent, then have your ducting on the other side of the hood exhausting out the tent. I hope that helps I can find a diagram to show you if needed

Yea need a bigger intake if u r going to give it a duel purpose (intake and light cooler)so with that in mind u will need at least a 400cfm3 to get the best use of it...
 
Just being realistic if u want to give it a go then by all means carry on just monitor ur temp and rh and c wot u come out with but don't forget u will need the Y piece I mentioned earlier....

I won't start it till I get all my stuff so I will wait till I get another fan

Take a look at these the salesman at the hydroponic store recommended these.

Okay I see I will get another 400 CFM without the filter to do the lights and a seperate one to scrub and exhaust. I don't believe that solar shit will pull enough heat away from the lights.
 
Yea bro I have those low cfm fans on my hood but for the size tent you have your prolly gonna need a high velocity for intake and exhaust to bring fresh air in. Here's a pic of a tent setup with two reflectors. Notice how this person has ducting connected to the first hood and it's bringing cold air through the hood and then has ducting connected to his high velocity fan blowing the heat out the tent. Having the fan at the end of the hoods like that is not ideal but honestly it all depends on how you wanna set it up. Whatever side you exhaust the heat from the lights is the side you wanna bring fresh air in and the other side here your bringing cool wit in for the lights is where you exhaust stale air in tent. Hopes this helps I tried to find a diagram but it's best to look on YouTube. There's some good videos with diagrams on how to setup air cooled lights. Here's the pic of the tent setup

I see what you where saying about the small cfm you have now yes you can use it as intake to bring fresh air into the tent but it won't be strong enough to cool the lights. And it might not be strong enough to bring in enough fresh air for the tent but the only way is to turn the lights on and run them.

In the tent diagram you posted you would have your lights setup just like the pic I posted. You would attach ducting to one of the 6"/8" flange ports on one side then to fan, then attach fan to light hood then ducting on other side of hood which is gonna attach to the 2nd light hood then ducting on the other side of 2nd hood then out another 6"/8" flange port. You can use the side flange or the flange on top of the tent.

Now I think you told me you got the giant can filter and if you did you can hook it up two ways to exhaust the stale air out of. It depends on what size fan your going to use so if you using a 6" fan then your going to have to use the 6"/8" ports on the side of the tent. You attach the fan to the port and then attach ducting to the fan on the outside of the tent then attach the other end of ducting to your big can filter or you can take ducting through your port have some sticking out inside the tent and at the other end of the ducting attach your exhaust fan to the ducting then attach fan to the can filter. If your can filter is not super heavy you can attach that to your fan on the side that's not blowing air then attach ducting to fan then stick ducting through port. Doing it this way tho your gonna have to hang the filter and fan. You could set it on he floor in the tent but you would have to use a lot of ducting to exhaust but it would be better to hang the filter and fan since heat rises and it would exhaust the heat better. This is how I would do it but everyone's different. I think this would be the best way to cool it and have adequate fresh air. Hope this helps
 
Yea the pic shows 2fans connected to the ducting but can't c wots going on behind the second light he HAS an intake then halfway up the tent he has a outher squirrel fan to cool the light YOGI the fan u have will do as an intake now u need one for the light...

He has the fan connected at the end of the lights so it's basically sucking the heat away from the lights then out the tent. He has ducting connected to first light to bring in air from outside the tent into the lights. This is fine but I would attach my fan at the first light or in the middle of both fans.

I think he has a high velocity fan for the lights already just like the one in the pic but Yogi is gonna need another one for the carbon filter to exhaust as those cheap ones aren't strong enough for the big can carbon filters

It's all good bro I really don't like wringing a lot to explain a setup a diagram would do much better lol I'll see what I can find too

Yep that's the way to go Yogi. That cheap fan you have should be good enough for bringing fresh air in. My setup is ran with using those cheap ones so I can't wait to upgrade to a high velocity fan for my lights. I won't have a heat issue again. I'm gonna get one of those small HEPA carbon filter to stick on my cheap fan for exhaust. Glad we could help bro. Hurry up and get those beans man. If I was close by you bro you wouldn't have to worry about that
