Hey fellow stoners
Im a total noob, and im looking for LED grow light, to my grow tent 40x40x120cm, and i found this in my local hardware store http://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/led-grow-lights/led-grow-light-135w-round-plant-grow-lamp/1659/3996/#/tab/Photos&Videos

Is this light any good? do any for you guys have experience with super bright leds products? and is the spectrum in the light good, or is a 7 band too much, and unnecessary ?

Sorry for my bad english! ;)
probably not worth it

It's not a good light. Have a look at mars II or marshydro. I have a grow using the Mars hydro. There is a link in my signature. Just started the second week of flower but so far it's been a great light.

my grow tent 40x40x120cm,
You can get a 180w (105w actual) UFO from TopLED for $71 US. That's half the price of the one you linked to, and 40% more power. The one you linked to is 135w (probably 85w actual).

TopLED isn't high quality. But, 3-year warranty and a company rep provides support on a public forum at 420magazine.com. That's better than buying from some unknown company or a small operation on eBay. If you have problems, you'll have a community of users on that forum following how your problem is handled.

There are better quality LEDs. But, for your space you don't have a lot of choices because you need more difussed softer light (3w mounted on white backboard). 5w and/or reflectors might be too strong for your vertical limitation.

To be perfectly honest, save your money and time and just get a CFL.
I have been trying to grow with LED's for a while now and they are a massive waste of money and completely unregulated in quality, output and light spectrum. I've spent hundreds on LED ufo lights and it's been a waste, you can get a 300W CFL light for the same price as a dodgy LED light.

I use an Area51 SGS 160 and love it. if going LED, go with one that uses whites rather than red and blue.

Cfls will cost more to run add more heat and are less penetrative. You will spend hours repositioning light bulbs as the footprint of the big cfls (300w) Are shite. I have 6 weeks left in flower with a marshydro 600w LED and the plants look great. UFOs are shit. Simple. There is a 150x marshydro unit that's great for small grows. I can't comment on how it performs during flower as I haven't finished but up to this point it's done a fantastic job

thank you for the reply guys! ;)
im think im going to have a look at mars hyrdo, or maybe a CFL, i live in Europe, so im looking for stores here in EU.

Do you guys think a 300watt dual spec CFL, would be too big for my room? :)

It generally depends on if you can deal with the heat mate. I've managed to get a nice harvest off two plants under a 200W, but if you can handle the heat of a 300W CFL I would go with that as the yield will be increased.

The Hans panel (<<link) might work for you. It's 3w. I'd rather not have a reflector with limited vertical space. But, some of its cones are wide angle. You could ask the seller about height requirements.

Don't let the price discourage you. It's a higher quality light than Chinese imports. It produces more light with less watts.

Those bulbs can get pretty hot. What is your plan for venting it? LED kick off a little heat but I bet you that 300w kicks off heat similar to a hps of that size. If your already dealing with the heat issue might as well go HID and get a better yield.

I use LED. When buying a light imo you need to factor in everything into the mix, ex: if I go led I can use a 4"inline dan as oppose to a 6" for an air cooled hood in my space. The increase in expense for one over the other should be factored into the mix.

It is what works for you. Stay away from cheap shit no matter what you decide to go with.

If you haven't made up your mind yet, also check out the Platinum Series DS100. On/off switch separate reds and blues. I love mine, and it is nice to be able to give my seedlings half the power when needed. I noticed someone say go with the whites, which I would agree with too, I love my red/blues but I would go for a whit when I buy another. I started working with saltwater and reefs/corals and they use white LEDs to grow corals. Some good stuff there.

LOL funny funny
yeah made me laugh too but seriously i've used cfls and they dont compare to a decent LED. wherever that LED is manufactured is irrelevant in my opinion. check the link in my sig to my grow. thats with a marshydro.....you can tell me if its shit or not

By the time you run an extra inline fan to cool your lights off it isn't 5x the price. Plus not having to change your bulbs every year.

On pure yield you make it up with HID lights. But they arent 5x the price unless you are looking at a really top shelf unit imo.
