Botrytis? (Outdoor)

Functional plan ...is the assumption that you are growing outdoors in a private dense location with poor air supply and very very high humidity, along with other plants at the same age and maturity, you gotta ask same basic questions, and face that fact that it is mold bud mold called other names, just like a soldier just got shot you have to face facts ...lol
1: with consideration to the way the wind is blowing remove large veg from the area by 2-3 meters/yards
2: if only one plant has this, then cover with trash bag cut the base and remove for dissection later
3: Check other plants for the same infestation,
4: with scissors dipped in hot water and 10% bleach, snip off all likely suspects to a bucket, carfeul mold spores like you too, you will carry them around !
5: if you grow here, ...in the place next year be sure you use heavy concentrations of Neem Oil, and or harvest earlier
6: read the antifungal chemicals well, not one has been developed yet that does not harm smoker lungs
7: consider doing a water cure and use in hash/oils or cooking, rather than the standard air/jar cure
8: ...and yes many molds can grow in your lungs too....sorry!

Alright. When spraying, do you try to cover everything very throughly and drench the plants, or just mist? I have 6 large plants, it generally takes approx. 2.5 gallons to thoroughly cover everything. Misting maybe a gallon or so. Wonder if I was overdoing it with pesticides.

I am growing outdoors, but it is a very open location (but private) with great air circulation and relatively low humidity which is what really gets me. I have several strains out there, most of which were put out at different time periods, so different stages of growth. Some are just now starting to show pistils, even some of the larger ones. Lol so it is bud mold though?

I have found 3 of the 6 large plants with it so far.

I have a TON of money invested in these 6 plants, so I really hate to cut them down this early. Don't think I could save with greencure or some fungicide?

Man, I feel lost here, this blows lol. :(

thats budrot for sure had it alot....any insect droppings laying on the bud or a DEAD BUG will trigger it...also the dew at night will do it...and rain...use green cure or if you have a wine an brewing store near you..get some potassium bi carbonate there..same as green cure..way cheaper....also you nay want to get some actinovite and water it in its a fungicide organic....the greencure will brown the pistils a bit so be warned ..but they came back fast.....now..if you add pro tec silica 2 times a week during flower time it helps make the plant tissue strong so the fungus cant take root on plant tissue,,,you can foliar spray it also...but do early morning so it dries...

I grow outside and since using pro tec with kelp sprayed..I have very little rot if any...

Always a bitch to realize you are in a war,...note the above post you mention pesticide is for bugs for this try a Fungicide, trim the bits off, to a bucket with again clean scissors,
if you are in pots, wrap the pot in trash bag and do the vid below

I have to do this regular ...one time per year the molds hate it, warm water and 10% bleach in a bath ..it works, allow to dry in a wind or fan

Good stuff, I might try some H202..

3% is pretty tame stuff.. I wonder if I can mist plants with it as a preventative.

you can mist bud rot areas with H2o2..trim off the rot and spray with peroxide/water mix....peroxide is a oxidizer and will kill spores.....I used it last year on some rot areas...but I forget the ratio of the 3% stuff....careful with the hydro stuff its like 37% and will burn if you dont mix right..they sell some stuff called Oxidate fungicide here it works well...its like h202 but different molacules...spray early day so it dries...at night your just leaving a wet bud area...but h202 works to kill spores....

Thank you. This blows lol. I've been adding pro tek silica to the water. Didn't know dead bugs could trigger it, that's good to know.

Haha for sure that is the truth. So really, you think I am better off harvesting early?

Its bot... I find it kinda strange that you got it on the tips.. vs the lower undersides where is more moisture.

Meh, I would cut away as much as possible as try some type of fungicide.
Me too, I can't quite figure that part out. I think I will try this first, then see if it is still spreading/how that goes before cutting down early.

Only thing is I hate for it to spread to my non-infected plants :/

Were getting some rain now. On that subject, is it best to shake off moisture or no? Scared I might spread spores by doing that.

Shake the plants after the rain has gone, its easy to piss the bud-rot angel off, simply by disrupting the surface she sits on, either by bleach(my pref.) or even baking soda,(the worst) or even cooking oil....best is Neem Oil, but many have cum backs later as in your health ...taste..cost ...viability, or even in detection, harvest earlier implies, you germ early too, like start one month early so you harvest one month early ..and avoid this annual regional crisis

That's a smart idea tyson, I like it.

Lol thank you V!

So talked to a buddy and he said it is from over feeding, which is why the leaves are contorting and twisting. Any thoughts on that? I watered them most their lives and just started feeding really during bloom, a little during veg here and there but not a consistent cycle. Just allowed them to go off the 100+ gallons of soil for the most part.

I have not seen any bud worms yet, but have seen some moths fly out of them while picking out dead shit, and some dead moths on the soil.

Ughhhh :/

So if budrot, what are my chances of overcoming it if using greencure/bordeaux? Don't want it taking over the plants or spreading to others, but I know if I could give the plants some time they would put on a lot of weight.
ur chances are good remove all moldy weed n spray everything down be vigil

Enough of this talking ..to buddies, as some things just don't pass a good period of study, repairing your plant is not a social thing but a must do ..thing to get weed! and for various reasons, too.The truth is very few growers get full on bud rot, as many grow inside or in dry climates thus unintentionally avoiding this issue, as far as this is seen as a training thing, its very high up there!, along with grape cloning or even grafting with grapes, grapes or cannabis their is very little difference on the outset..to confuse bud rot with leaf phyllotaxy is seriously dumb, ditch your buddy, if thats all he has to offer! ...google for more and you can't do much about the phyllotaxy, as its a breeders thing and typical with many C99 strains and Eutrophication, aint' Nute burn ...not even close so be careful of so called advice even on here!

Yes, I agree and I have been being very active about it.. Treating it as a must do.. But I do like to get as many opinions as possible. So V, I want to make one hundred and ten percent sure you are positive it is botrytis and there is no way at all it could be anything else? Nute related or otherwise? You are a really knowledgeable guy, but just wanting to confirm for sure.

My friend is from one of the most humid areas in the U.S. and grew there and has had to deal with botrytis. Now we are in one of the lowest humidity areas in the U.S. (In the top 5 lowest humidity areas in the U.S.) but there are some members on here from the same state (although different city's) who said they have dealt with mold here outdoors.

This is a C99 cross.. You are saying eutrophication is common with C99 strains? Just want to make sure I understand correctly here. Or when you say phyllotaxy are you referring to the leaf spacing/internode distance?

I am taking it very seriously and treating it as if it is bud rot none the less, but I want to confirm that there is absolutely no way it could be any other issue? Being in such a low humidity area (2nd lowest humidity city in the state)

Look at it closely, snip a bit of, even taste it, sniff it, look close for mold, and compare ..it should powder in your fingers, if not mold ...see it as nute burn and flush 3 times the volume of the pot estimated, allow to recover overnight, monitor daily!

Thank you V, I really appreciate you taking the time to help me out!

Main reason I have not made my mind up just yet is because over the past couple days I have spent over 15 hours cleaning dead shit out and inspecting them. I have yet to see anywhere on the inside of the canopy effected. I would think it would be the first effected, since there was tons of dead shit just laying in there and I would assume moisture would sit there longer.

Only reason I could think it would effect tops first if botrytis is because they are more developed so maybe moisture would get trapped in there longer?

Thanks once again man.
