Outdoor Autoflower question

Gonna start some auto seeds next week.

1.) Cream of the crop "Cash Crop"
&
2.)Ak 49

Right now my lighting options are 250w of cfl or 13hrs of sun...although I know the sun is king, is 250w of 24hr cfl better than 13 hours of the suns energy? Im down south and our winter doesnt start until late December...so weather will not be a problem...what should I do RIU?!?

I would start the beans under cfl indoors until they are big enough to take outside to harden up.

I have been using the sun/CFL tag-team approach and have gotten great results.

since you are growing auto's, the more light the better (but I still like 4 hours of darkness), so I recommend you use both....and get them used to both at a young age.

The issue will likely be near the end when the sunshine is less powerful...your grow rate may slow down some

The other fear is picking up bugs/mites while outside....just keep a close eye on them

Yep, thats my main concern. Bringing in pests from outside

if you are not growing other plants inside, then the risk is no greater than being outside 24 hours/day

I would suggest you know your enemies and have an arsenal of weapons on hand to quickly combat the undesirable insects .....and know which ones are good bugs, the ones that eat other bugs

don't use the bath tub to grow in, otherwise you risk your plants getting pregnant with unkniown pollen.
i live in wales, 15 miles from the nearest large town (carmarthen) and ive had seeds in my FEM'd widows. must be growers nr by as t65here were no mle flower parts 12 all 5' tall in a pollytunel all bush pruned by hand too :(

Hi, I am quite new to growing. This season will be my second season and I really hope it is more successful than my first. I am an outdoor grower and I live in rural South Australia. So far in the season (a little early as spring starts today), I have germinated a White Widow Auto Fem seed and I have a Super skunk Auto Fem which I will start at the end of September. Anyway, the photos are not the best but I have used Brunnings Urea Nitrogen Ferts (very small amount) on day 20.

Day 30
day 30 too.jpg

As you can see in the last photo, I have some burnt tips. She has a nice thick stem and looks really healthy other than those burnt tips on the leaves. I have not used any more fertilizers since.

Any tips on outdoor Autos would be hugely appreciated if anyone has any suggestions. :)

Thanks.

Can you see my plants roots down there :bigjoint: I allway's wanted to try growin down under, ive seen some buties from AUS & NZ,

that there ground LOOKS ODD, plenty of stones but lacking in earth (strain dependant) but by day 20, my red dwarf was UGE, THAT OR YOUR PLANTING WHEN THE LIGHT HOURS ARE ALMOST 12/12. Adding some humous (not the garlic one ):eyesmoke: thats for munchies l8r on.
but composted bark chippings, pearlite or some expanded shale type product. i can;t be sure, but thats very slow growth to me. hows your drainage and what veg do well there?

whats your situation for
1, light hours a day
2, chicken shit put into the ground the previous year is good to do, gives it time to break down, so no root burn or burnt tips (too much nitrogen). Autos dont need much in the way of feeding when young or in good soil.
3, Your proximity to the grow
4, Any noisy/nosey neighbours?
5, water near by?
just roughly, i, neigh, we dont need your post code (just DOB, ADDY NI Number etc would be

you may do well with Ahem (super autos) feminized autoflowering strains if you like your sativas,or a dark tarpaulin to block out daylight if your in idilic situation. any details to help build a picture and realise your grow op.

hope to help RUDI I

I did plant way early...in winter lol. The temps in the first few weeks was quite cold and stunted her majorly I believe. The last week or two she has been growing a little better as the sun has decided to come out. I am looking forward to the few 25 to 26 degree days to help her out.

I have been looking at others plants and I know, they are quite big by this stage, mine has a nice thick stem and isn't stretching at all, the sixth set of leaves are nearly fully out and the seventh set is developing fast and she is only 4 inches tall. As I said in my last comment, I did put some nitrogen ferts on her on day 20 because the cold weather, I thought it would help but thats all so far.

I grow in my yard. I am not a big grower, last season was my first season and I only had one in the ground. This season I thought I would try a few autos plus my one in the ground. Neighbours, not too bad. It isnt the most secluded yard but I feel secure with the small amount that I grow.

Thanks for your input Rudi, really do appreciate it.

You can use some simple lighting setup for some automatic 100 day femanised autos, a striplight or 2 preferibly (20watts min & 40 watts max per sq foot cool white strips are cheep) over 40w per sq ft and the plants cant use it so its wasted. just wasting money on lecky electricitycan see you through from raising younguns till the daylight hours are long enough to plant them out, or to extend the light they get each morning or evening, to give them 20 hours light/or 24hrs.
Im looking to plant three Super Automatic Autoflowering Feminised Seeds, 3 Lowryder x diesel x widow and a delicious cheese candy auto fem free wi order.

1automatic at a time would give you 3 crops of 300 - 500 per plant, mostly indica and your on the coach for 365 day a year on great gear

are there any spots near by that you could grow some ? he asked with a DOH!, there dwarf weeds moron :bigjoint:

all you need is a packet of 10 regular seeds and leave the best male and female together to breed and your in seeds for years. you can manipulate the high and effect within the 10 seed selection (mixed packs do have themselves planted firmly in my mind to do again, cross it with a lowryder and select the offspring with your chosen flowering trait...oops, getting a head of my self there K.I.S.S RUDI.

test your soil PH and talk to local gardaners
A BAG OF COMPOST OR TWO WOULD SERVE YOU WELL,
WORMARY
BOKASHI
COMPOST
CHICKEN WIRE LEAFMULCH CAGE(VERY IMPORTANT)
CHICKEN PELLETS/FISH,Bload & bone etc. what ever floats your boat, and you will reap the benafits rud1 i

Hahaha! I am not really interested in producing seeds or strains I just want to buy/ grow and smoke different strains. I am looking to move just out of town soon which will be nice, then I will have a few acres. As I am very new to this, it is all still very exciting all the different strains out there and the different affects that it has on you.Up to date I have not known what I am smoking, I am looking forward to this changing and enjoying my own fruits.

They say that when someone else cooks you dinner it tastes better purely because you didn't slave over the stove cooking it. I believe that growing is the exact opposite and I can't wait to experience it! :D
