I have a cool white "100 watt" (10 strings of 10, each die rated at 1W max) that I'm not sure what I want to do with yet.
I feel very uncomfortable with it mounted to the stock intel heatsink it's on now and would much prefer a semipassive design. Even when I was underdriving it at 1.05A, it the sink without the fan on gave me a blister. Very dangerous if the fan breaks.
The power supply I bought for it is a mean well LPC-60-1750, which operates between 9V-34V at 1.75A. These arrays run with a lower voltage drop for the same current draw as vero 29 and cxa 3070

Nope did this test several times. What ever plant went under there it turned towards the white spectrum.
"The Cholodny-Went hypothesis, developed in the early 20th century, predicts that in the presence of asymmetric light, auxin will move towards the shaded side and promote elongation of the cells on that side to cause the plant to curve towards the light source"
If the plant was sitting under a light source that the plant didn't consider "shaded" it wouldn't be affected by the other light. Now that I have all white lights in there this has not occurred....

Phototrophins respond to blue light better than other colors. White leds are blue leds with a phosphor coating.
"Phototropism in plants such as Arabidopsis thaliana is directed by blue light receptors called phototropins.[12] Other photosensitive receptors in plants include phytochromes that sense red light[13] and cryptochromes that sense blue light.[14] Different organs of the plant may exhibit different phototropic reactions to different wavelengths of light. What a waste of my time reading thru 12 pages of misinterpreted googled knowledge and hypothetical bs. The ones who do makes sense are questioned by wanna-be experts spewing worthless theories and unsubstantiated claims of greatness. Opinions are like anuses, everyone has one.
For a bunch of claimed highly educated foolios, you people have no manner, respect, or decency for anyone and very limited actual experiences, along with a bs degree. Even when presented with pictures and actual results, you people still insists to push your personal logic as if it was actual facts, instead of the hypothetical bs it is.
If reds your thing then so be it. Paint your damn house red for all people care. Is it a crime to express your opinion or share actual results that whites are just as good if not better than the reds.
Instead of sitting on your asses and spew hypothetical bs, go out spend some money, get some panels made to your specs and test out your logic if red is better or vice-versa, before trying to be some wanna-be experts in this field. Logic is bullshit, until proven.
I've done my testing, including all of the useful whites from 2700k-6500k vs. each other and also the reds. Don't know about your logic, but higher yields, more natural size/shape leaves, and better overall growth is enough for me to use it instead of the reds.
I'm out of this worthless gathering of so-called educated, but ignorant group of chest beating attitudes with more bs than actual useful facts. Actually thought this would be an interesting thread and maybe learn something, but instead wasted my time learning why we as humans, will always end up killing each other.
At the end of the day, the goal is to grow the best possible meds be it with reds, whites, or pink spectrum. Who cares, as long as it works for you. Only results matters, anything else is bs.

Hey TFP welcome and well said. I also get tired of these so called "experts". Many need to dig out their grade school science book and read what the definition of a theory is. Most likely been growing longer than they have been breathing on this good old earth. Yet I still have barely scratched the surface of understanding this marvelous creation...

Nothing, because all results starts with a theory. The problem starts when an unproven theory is presented in a factual manner with attitude.
I totally agree with TFP, logic is bs until proven. Couldn't have said it better myself. Only results matter, the rest is pure bs.
If you're going to preach to the mass, better get your facts straight before making a fool out of yourself worldwide. Some of the mass have been around, and invested a lot of resources testing some of this theories that these manufacturers, and so-called experts suggested to find out it's pure bs, based on greed or plain ignorance. Let's spare them the eye and brain cancer.
A theory must be tested to see if it's fact or fiction. The problem is this technology is not cheap; therefore, not many end-user have the need nor means to do the actual tests.
Only a handful of die-hards with the time and means to conduct these tests, along with some dedicated names in the business. The reason I said some, is because most are just copies of others, while others are just ordinary standard proven 6-14 band red spectrum that anyone that's been around this game long enough knows.
How do I know, because I was a sucker for a lot of these hype and bs starting 6yrs ago, buying my first R/B panel that was supposed to save me 80% power, with same yield and better quality. Yeah, right, buddy.
Anyone doubting the white spectrum's ability to grow plants, owe it to themselves to try the white spectrum next to their red spectrum first before passing judgement. Seeing is believing, and results is all that matters. Anything else is bs.
Using big words, and fancy scientific talk will not overcome ignorance and inexperience, nor get results. U can only bs your way so far, before getting caught.
What gets me is the attitude and animosity here. I thought this is a place where we share facts/results to better ourselves and others as budding greenthumbers. This is not the Jerry Springer Show people.

Couldn't have said it any better. A theory is an unproven assumption until it can be proven it doesn't become fact... You don't think scientist are above the rest of society that they wouldn't excluded data or fudge something to keep that government grant money rolling in.... I am a realist I am not saying all scientist are "bad" but their not all perfect. They a fallible just like everyone else in this world.... Yeah never saw any value in the Jerry Springer show waste of time...
