Are seeds produced from hermies useless?

Well basically as the title says, i has some plants hermie on me they are fem seeds from reserve privada (very expensive seeds) some of the strains are for sure dank! In my drying racks i have seeds. I am just wondering can these still produce healthy females? Or is going to be a high ratio of hermie plants.Rep given for answers.. thanks guys.

The seeds are not that bad, the buds by no means are bad maybe two seeds out of a ounce..

As I understand it, much will have to do with what caused the first gen to hermie in the first place. Something you did as in light leaks etc ? Or, was it caused by only the genetics themselves and they would have hermied no matter what you did with them. I do know this because I've done it myself successfully, they are indeed capable of producing healthy females that will run without doing it again.
More than once I've had a few plants that I eventually found just a few stray seeds in. I kept them awhile and eventually planted them and they ran quite nicely.
It may not be the very best option to do it, and if they're carrying a strong tendency to hermie they might. But again, I know it can also run fine.
Because you too only found a trace of seeds, I like your chances.

As you may know they are feminized seeds! I would plant them just for the hell of it, "Every seeds deserves a pop!"

Yeah i pretty much figure that. I guess i give them a try. They were not stressed and no light leaks the strain named Lohan (L.A Confidential x trainwreck) also known as training day, but its known to go hermie. Its not the dankest ever but it goes crazy purple smells and taste like blackberries and people love the fuck out of it..

I usually view them as useless as theres a good possibility they will pass on the hermie trait, so if i have stable seeds i would definitely use them instead. I would plant them outside if anything.

Probably not worth your time to grow them out. Takes up space and has 80% chance or greater of passing on the trait. Toss them

really depends on if you can figure out which one hermi'd those seeds ( S1's) i would consider useless but the crosses may not be
if you grow from clone then you could grow out some mothers and run batches from each one to sort them out you may get a keeper
or not
depends on how hard you want to work at it

2 seeds in a oz ?

Guess I missed the 2 seeds in an oz. I've had bud with a couple seeds in it every now and again, probably stress induced. I started from seed too, re-ran the clones and didn't have any future seed probs.

i've been growing hermie seeds for a couple of years
mileage may vary, but doomed they are not
my experience has been that less than half will be hermies
reg seeds give you similar odds
that said, an increased risk is probably a fair statement
if you see roosters, you can just treat it as a male, out it goes

They will have the genetics only of the plant they come from. At 2 seeds an oz this is a very small hermie trait and possibly enviromental/stress factors played a role. That said i get most of my seed this way as can only afford new ones periodically and never had a problem.

Were all tied to mutations and death from ever replicating dna, eventually selfed plants from seed will loose vigour and struggle with nutrients as would an inbred human but.

Reading through endless papers on in would suggest you shouldn't have any problems with the first fewgenerations of selfed marijuana plant S1, S2, S3...etc but wise to not try pushing the boundy here.

I say 100% should be almost as good as the original seed, which if you believe the breeder probably had such strong genetics or was an F1/first generation from a cross of dna genetics that the selfed S1 seed should still be more than viable to produce great buds.

When U think of it..most of the sought after weed around the world came from bag seed..hermied plants.and back in the 70s and 80s that's all U could grow...know seed banks around then...im growing sannies extrema its chem d xherijuana and there very sensitive to grow..they will herm if U look wrong at them....had 4 out of 7 herm on me..but what I did find with sensitive plants like those is they don't like to much water...there very sensitive to the light...light bleaching at 18" away ...and low doses of nutrients is all they need...especially nitrogen...if sensitive plants get to much nitro going in to flower they will herm ...i corrected all of the above and the plants are flying with know probe....basically what im saying is less is more when growing plants with a tendancy to herm.happy growing

umm the S1's which are hermi x itself would have less value then the crosses which would be F1 fem's
it doesnt matter what the hermi was crossed with they will all be female or hermi thats it

This is a good discussion, im just going to pop them and i will let y'all know. I was under the impression that most fem seeds are in fact hermie, but they just don't pop nanners until the end of flower and considering 80% growers chop to early anyways it usually isnt a problem. However i tend to let mine flower to long due to pure laziness.

But ive seen a friend of mine ruin her whole crop due to a hermie. So it's kinda scary especially when your growing on a larger scale, that could literary be a make it or break it for me.

t watch out for nanners around week 3/4 it usually happens around that time..they pop out right under the flowers on each node..if they are going to herm on U....i read a similar post over on open grow and a lot of growers grew seeds produced by hermied plant..with know problems.....making fem seed using cs spray to change the hormones in the plant to produce male pollen sacs is a diffrent thing altogether to geting seeds from a plant that hermied.....the females used to make the fem seeds would be from regular seed and very very stable..with know hermie tendancy...but I bet there is breeders using hermie pollen to make feminized seed...just to get in on the money...just my thought...happy growing

The nanners late in flower are normal
Its when they are hermi from the go that it is a actual hermi
