What really frustrates me with conservatives and abortion is how much they want us to believe that they truly care for this poor unborn baby (zygote) but as soon as it passes through the birth canal they don't give a rats ass about it. No food stamps, no support for the single mother, no social security .... nothing! Fend for yourself little one!

Exactly. I think it's sad if someone chooses an abortion due to their financial state but other times it may simply be a means to finish a college degree (a huge amount of the age group getting abortions, I've known women that have yet want kids. Just not then due to lack of support) or in some cases high school. It's framed from anti choice folks as if pregnancy is some sort of punishment for "heathens" or bad girls l. I simply can't subscribe to that philosophy. I like sex, luckily I don't have the equipment to worry about carrying around what is essentially a parasite for 9 months.

Honestly been thinking a lot about whether I really want little ones at all or if it isnt partially a societal pressure to reproduce. I definitely know at this point in time I am way to self centeres to even imagine having a kid lol, also a lot of shit I wanna do still before call it a wrap on my early adulthood but all in all I think fatherhood will suit me well eventually just not now.

I used to not want kinds but as I age I am now realizing that the wife and I are going to need someone to take care of us or at least put us in a home one day.

the more you learn about science the less you believe, i was raised a Baptist/protestant and i went to church three times a week, youth programs, Christian camps you name it, i went to it.
I LOVE the core base of the teachings (the jesus Christ ones, NOT the old testament, rape, pillage, murder etc.)
But hatred, murder, and rape? Um, not my cup of tea.
there are a lot of really beautiful teachings that are from most religions, sadly, MAN has demented it, and contorted it to teach what man wants.
The bible was written by a bunch of MEN, not god, not jesus, not saints/angels/etc.
Man.
And the time I've spent on the planet, I've learned one thing very clearly, man has fucked up EVERYTHING we have touched.
Name ONE THING that is in better shape, now that we have 7-8 billion people on the planet.
Ground? Nope, it's slowly being covered by asphalt and concrete, not to mention contaminated. Water? nope, damn near poisonous Air? nope. also damn near poisonous. the animals? Won't even start.. Atmosphere? nope. SPACE? nope we are junking that up too

True dat, when I was younger I thought hindus and bhuddists were Interchangeable almost but then I learned about the caste system and the tradition of burning the wife alive when the husband dies and quicly stopped making that comparison...

Now most hindus I have met have been perfectly nice people, and both of the practices are not all that commonplace in modern hindus but the caste sysem does still seem to be alive and well over in India

Kids are great, but they are a shit-ton of work, and expensive.

I was just listening to the radio the other day and they were talking about a study that was done on the cost of raising children. An average middle class family will spend $248,000 to raise a kid to the age of 18. That figure does not factor in private schools or college.

I have 3 of the little fuckers. My pocket will be $750,000 lighter when it's all said and done. :shock:
