Harvest before the light goes on, i.e. at the end of the dark period.

http://www.greenlionfarms.com/media-press-kit-gallery/blog/68-circadian-rhythm-starch-degradation-and-affects-on-cannabis-growth

"During night-time hours, the stored starch will degrade. The degradation process, almost miraculously, follows a nearly linear rate, and the starch reserves are nearly depleted by dawn."

And that's why 48 hours darkness is bullshit :) 12, 14, or 24 if you have to.... will be plenty.
So chopping after a dark period basically is reducing the time it'd take to cure properly? Since there will be less starches to break down during fermentation...? And if the starch reserves are nearly depleted after a typical dark period then prolonging it for 24-48 hours would have no benefit...?

Mainliner isn't a troll, hes just retarded.

I honestly think it's hilarious he was saying to "flush" pre harvest.

We should call that type of flush "The noob flush".

It makes me chuckle when people tout flushing pre harvest to benecessary.

If anything your dissolving all available salts/ nutrients and the plant sucks it up,increasing the uptake. Even if you flush for a week, your bud isn't going to sweat that shit out...

did you miss this thread , this was written by a world cup grower?
READ IT AND WEEP WIERD TROOL BELIVERS

It is advised that you stop using your cannabis flowering fertilizer 2 weeks before harvest time to ensure that all chemicals are out of the plant. If chemicals are in the plant when you harvest, the smoke will be very harsh. To prevent harshness, flush the plants heavily with fresh water 2 weeks prior to harvesting them. Ensure you flush at least 3 times the capacity of your pot. So a 4 gallon pot would be flushed with 16 gallons of fresh water. From that point water your plants with pure water, absolutely NO additives should be given to the plant. This is especially important if you have been using chemical fertilizers

That's sort of true, he's a retard trying to be a troll. See all the stupid caps only titled threads in the Cannabis Cafe forum or check the number of posts he has with "2 letters" as contents... Comes with the territory.

The myth they (claim to have) debunked in that article is whether it specifically affects cannabinoid potency. Although based on the article it seems they tested the results at one point and I'd be more interested in the cannabinoid "and" terpene tests over and during a 3 month period, I have no problem with that specific claim. I cure for smooth smoke...

Well, I wouldn't consider it a trick to reduce the time it takes to "cure properly" as "cure properly" and "reducing time" don't really go together. My main point was that 24-48 would not be any better than 12 for the reason pointed out in the article I posted.

This is from the same site as that debunked myth ( http://bigbudsmag.com/grow/how/article/how-drying-your-medical-marijuana-harvest-august-2011 ) :
"This process takes time. A proper drying time is 7-14 days. If you rush the process, fewer sugars are produced [converted from starch] and you’re left with more starch."

So combined the 3 links posted, logic dictates that with less starches to begin with (which factually IS the case after a night) the risk you're left with too much starch is smaller. So while in a way you could consider it reducing the time it takes to cure properly, I'd look more at it like if you were to dry and cure too fast it'll be less disastrous if you harvested at the end of the night. Plus your weed won't smell like beer after 3-4 months although supposedly some connoisseurs like that fermented smell...
