nah man, that's why I said with respect, I completely HATE internet arguments, its the most pointless thing in the world, I've just never heard that method being used for plants in soil...
its all good, we just have diff methods, pot is so easy to grow, you can do it a MILLION ways..

it should remove any salt build up and also lower the N content whilst not depriving the plant of food....its easier to add than take away i suppose....ive done this for my plant and it worked well BUT like i said people think im crazy .....no arguing here just doing things a different way
he said he didn't feed them yet, I think they are rootbound, in my point of view, transplanting a plant is kinda like a multivitamin, in a good mix it has a good mix of micros/macros, everything, not to mention more ROOM for the roots, i'd bet a large amount of money that a transplant to a gallon pot would help them. Since he didn't feed anything to them, my thoughts lead me to believe that's it's NOT a nitrogen issue. Not from just soil.

Honestly, I really, REALLY don't see anything wrong with them.... Like I said before, that's doesn't look to be an issue, in my opinion. I wouldn't do anything, minus my aforementioned advice on a gallon-square. In those little guys you'll get like a 7-10g a plant. With a gallon you can get up to an 21-28g with good genetics and techniques, at LEAST 10-20gs

I did say I grow in coco lol. Yeah couple of guys said the same as you. A transplant into good mix heals all. Never grown in soil so I'm no expert there but the book doesn't say anything about medium type so I presumed it was good for any.

oh, well that's something i'd disagree with, the growing medium makes a WORLD of difference. Ph buffering, salt retention, nutrient leaching, etc, etc, all those characteristics vary greatly depending on what you use
