Is this real movement in the MMPR finally?

TWEED MARIJUANA INC. ANNOUNCES LICENSE APPROVAL OF GREENHOUSE FACILITY

OTTAWA, August 11, 2014 - Tweed Marijuana Inc. (TSXV: TWD) ("Tweed" or the "Company"), is pleased to announce that its recently acquired greenhouse facility in Niagara-on-the-Lake (“Tweed Farms”) has obtained its Health Canada license.

The license has enabled Tweed to commence growing activities in approximately 10% of the entire 350,000 square foot facility. Tweed Farms will produce the initial crop while concurrently working to expand it’s growing area and other permitted activities under the MMPR license as issued on August 8, 2014.

“I am delighted with the efficiency of the overall organization in bringing Tweed Farms into production,” stated Bruce Linton, Chairman & Co-Founder. “This is an enormous milestone for Tweed and we are proud to be the first geographically diversified, multi-licensed producer in Canada.”

Tweed Farms utilizes rainwater harvesting, water recirculation and CO2 strategies to produce medical marijuana in a very sustainable way. The entire facility will have the potential to produce up to 45 million grams of marijuana based upon expanding our licensing to the full square footage of the greenhouse.

There are currently 17 strains in production at Tweed Farms, including Bakerstreet (Hindu Kush), Donegal (Chem Dawg), and High Lands (East Cost Sour Diesel), with an anticipated first harvest in the fourth quarter of 2014.

Great, now they can grow schwag outdoors and in. I've said it time and time again. They need to get growing cannabis in GENERAL down first before they move on to bigger things. Right now they can't even grow what they have in a HALF descent manner. This shit is beyond laughable and their stock prices reflect such.

More HC bullshit designed to ensure the failure of the mmpr and accepted by LP's blinded by the promise of riches. What other business in the history of this country would accept being limited to 10% of their space as a 'win'? Harper and HC are over stepping the boundaries of government interference in commerce on a daily basis and those with the biggest stake bend over and take it! The courts have told the government they must provide access...the only suppliers they have are the LP's. All it would take is them organizing and threatening to turn off the lights until a fairer system is in place. The government would then be forced to negotiate or import weed for medical users and I know they don't want to touch the latter. For the LP's is would mean some short-term financial pain but an opportunity to build a business that will still be viable after February.

I use it all the time! It's free! It works great for keeping my arthritis pain at bay while still allowing me to function normally. I use a lot of it in cooking so I can reserve my indoor for vaping and smoking. Don't knock outdoor...the hills of BC are full of plants that would rival a lot of indoor.

some of the best pot i have ever seen was outdoor organic. great flavors, super smooth and a great kick too it. and the best part, it was so sticky i could stick it to the wall and it would just stay there, i had to peel it off lol. too sticky to roll a doobie with though so i had to bong it.

I don't think anyone here can answer that question. That said, their time estimate did seem early to me as well.

This is a win for them. Being able to scale upwards from a smaller area is beneficial in many ways and lets you scale with the market. If they grew in 100% of the space today the supply/demand would immediately misalign.

Personal theory is that HC let this one slide because it helps them in court yet again - they've got indoor mass production, now they have outdoor mass production.. they eventually need to cover their bases if they expect to win in court on the verdict of "availability".

(Please spare me your "schwag" this and that.. I'm aware that it's not good product)

Wouldn't this be considered an extension of their current licence? Maybe that's why it met with approval. How many NEW LP's have been licenced?

AFAIK, none. Tweed and possibly one other got an extension to their license.
The rest are still being held back. No new LOIs have been issue and no facilities have been inspected.
