What is the purpose of poor people?

What a cheap shot.

The sun is never referred to as the nearest star. That is always Alpha Centari Proxima.
No. Don't be mad because you fell for the play on words too...

The Sun is the closest star.

Which is heavier, a pound of feathers or a pound of bricks?

A pound of bricks, because you can hold a pound of feathers with your finger, while your finger won't hold a brick.

Assuming the feathers are bagged and the brick isnt.

Of course they weigh the same.

But as a sensible fungi, you should agree that the sun isn't the closest star.

That's because the sun is much more than a star, it's the sun, giver of life and melter of ice.

A star won't do that.

Your finger can hold one pound of brick? How stoned are yo bro.

The weight of the feathers would be pulling down on your finger equally despide the brick being harder.

The brick is more dense, meaning more mass per volume, than the feathers. You are more dense than both the brick and feathers combined.

The sun is the closest star, I don't even need to ask Google.

The sun is a star, a hot ball of gas and nuclear fusion.

Is there even anything to argue about here?

If anything I wanted to argue with Red, not you. Not much difference I suppose...

A pound of feathers (it would have to be in a bag of some kind) would be significantly easier to hold than a one pound brick.

You can't hold one pound of brick with one finger unless you spend all of your time balancing it.

Try balancing one pound of brick on your finger and walk down the road.

Meanwhile you could put the handle of the feather pound around your finger and keep going.

As far as the sun...

Imagine your friend is over at your house. You live out in the country and you and him are enjoying the view on your back porch.

He asks you, where is the nearest house?

No one would think it needed to be said that it is right behind him connected to the porch.

Same with the sun.

However, technically we are within the heliosphere. That means we are inside the sun in an way.

You can go and look at what the heliosphere is.

That is an infantile thing a 2nd grader would say to smart off to his teacher.

A finger is strong enough, but a brick weighs a few pounds.

If you cut a one pound section off of it, it's shape would present the difficulty in holding it.

Of course it could be put in a bag just like the feathers.

This is the most retarded conversation I've had since grade school.

Feathers have to be in a bag. They'll fly away if not.

But bricks aren't usually in bags.

It's not about weight and strength. It's about shape and having to use multiple fingers to secure the brick.

You are missing the whole point entirely.

You're going on about cutting bricks and packaging feathers and how you would hold them and this and that. The question was which weighs more, not which is easier to hold and what kind of grip would you use. The point is that they weigh the same, and that the question is a trick; a play on words of sorts.

As for your analogy, it is horrible.

The sacred sixth grip; the Sloth.
Hmmm...the Chinese guy in that video didn't seem to know that move. He's probably poor, since he's forced into making Shaolin vids on YouTube.
Maybe Finshaggy needs to start making Alien Kung-fu vids with Nevaeh and GooseDrivel?
That would be huge.

You ninja'd me on my semi-colon to colon change. Now everyone will know I can't spell good :-\

And yes, we need to coordinate and get everyone together.

Perhaps a picnic is in order?
