Older known strains

Ok so I have ordered a older known strain (Skunk #1) and I'm considering (Northern Lights) being as a 10 pack of those strains are more in my budget and are considered "beginner" strains especially indoors ! From what I'm reading though they are not that potent. Some reviews put Sk #1 at 8.1 % thc and Sensi lists it at 13 to 15 % thc which isn't that bad...would it be better to proceed with these or save up a few more bucks for other strains ? What's the thoughts of the good folks from RIU ?

I am in an endless search for an old South American strain (Acapulco Gold, Panama Red, Columbian). People say they are all dead but they exsist somewhere. I suspect you would have to go there yourself. Sometime in my life I want to travel to Mexico and Columbia to collect seeds to grow. Then I can give seeds to other growers to make the old sativas a legit smoke.

That's what caught me about the Skunk #1 is the Acapulco Gold and Colombian Gold genetics.

I really like the feeling of Blue Dream but it tastes like deodorizer spray like Grandma used to spray in the bathroom.

Older known strains are so well known becouse their the shit , You cant go wrong with them ,Their genetics are generaly stable, and are rather tollerant of different conditions (usually). Newer strains almost always have more variance in genetics . The high numbers you see quoted on the breeders site are the 1 in a 100 pheno's grown under albosolute perfect conditions , and then dryed to 0.00% to get such a high #'s . Where the older strains #'s are a more accurate description (slightly)

THC does not measure high/effect in any accurate way.

Your first car should be a beater , and your first seeds cheap or bag so you have some room to experment

Pure sativas or sativa doms have a tendency to make me feel jittery...I like a Little indica in my smoke plus they help me with my back pain.
Yeah when I go on walks with my dog (only time I can smoke) and it's cold out sativas make me feel really weird. I'm a indi dom guy I've realized

That's what I'm thinking...a strain that's been around 30 plus years...there has got to be something to it ! Alot of the modern strains of today has had at one time or another the genetics of Skunk #1 and/or Northern Lights bred into them. Love the car analogy...lol Thanks my man and happy growing to you !!! :-)
