Need electrical help please!

Mine has an auto restart it save the last settings used when power is lost but it still seems that you still have to press the on/off button when the external timer.

Im going to bypass the on off button and see what happens

It doesn't sound like a "real" auto restart to me. Look up the specs of your model online. It will tell you.
But if your device does store your settings, maybe the on/off button bypass will work. Good luck, hope it works. Let us know huh

Sorry i should have said im using a 3rd party external timer to run multiple cycles per day. This timer cuts power to the unit to stop the cycle. The auto restart would work im sure with the internal timer but it only allows for 1 on/off cycle setting at a time. When the external timer cuts off its the same as unplugging the unit so you then need to press the power button to turn it back on when the timer kicks back on. Sorry if thats confusing

Oh yeah, I fully understand why one might need the auto-restart
Btw......last time I opened up the electronics on something like that(wall ac electronics wen't out), i looked at it and said "fuuuuuuck", and put it rite back together, and took it to the dump.

Can anyone tell me how to bypass the power button? Is it as simple as pulling the board out and splicing a wire? Its already apart as its in use as a chiller but none of the wiring was messed with

depends on how its wired. Can u post a picture of the board, that would help.

Turn the external timer off. Hold down the ON button, turn on the timer and continue to hold down the on button. If it turns on and keeps running after a few min of still holding down the button, a bypass should work. Or figure out a way to simply hold down the button. If it has membrane type of buttons, it would be easier to make a button weight to keep it pressed.

Thanks to everyone especially aeroknow for preaching the auto start. When i was trying to run the external timer the internal timer was set on a delayed start so thats why it wasnt coming on. I cleared it out and its working fine now. I guess those manuals are good for something besides starting the charcoal grill

There she is. The abominable chiller! Still need to convert the heat exchange container to a cooler but she is a equivalent to a 2hp 12,000 btu chiller. Will freeze a fish tank to a block of ice!
