I dont eat pork either. If I dont go on vacation then ill throw in on some ribs with you. i can bbq pretty good too.

..........................................The pig roaster will be cooking all day & I use Hickory for smoke. Perfect for slow smoking some ribs..

I can round trip this thing from St. Louis to Sacramento on Amtrak, with a bed, for $1300. Leave on Tuesday, arrive Thursday afternoon. Figure I check into a roach motel, catch a ride early Friday to help with hog, depart on Monday lunchtime, back home Wednesday night/Thurs morning. I've always wanted to go out west and see the trip. A half pound retail here would cover my trip and expenses.

The alternative is fly into Sacramento on Friday 12:34 pm and out on Sunday at 11:19 am economy round trip for $473.

You didn't give me time man to write second post, lol. I know this. It's the entire scenic trip that is the issue here. Of course, over half of it will be dark.
