I flowered outside last year but I don't remember exactly when it started. I do know that about half way through I had to bring her indoors multiple times per week because of frost and snow. However, I live @ 9500 feet elevation. So if you're in Denver you *may* be able to finish it up outdoors but I dunno.

From what I have heard here in like here in a week or so give or take a little. Mine look like they are starting to pop up up some pistils here & there so not sure... Might have to go put some lights out there, I need mine to veg a tad longer.

Good luck man, i'm sure you'll be able to pull 4 oz. off her.

put them outside now and let them veg under the sun. They will do better in the sun anyway and its a good way to get them acclimated. Flowering will start within the next 2 weeks

Frosty, I believe his are already outside. He said he put them outside in early May.

Mine have started developing pistils here and there sooo flowering has started for me. I put some lights out there because need them to keep vegging for a week or so.

Yep mine have been outside for a while but in may i was bringing them inside due to 30degree nights up her in the high rockies but after mid jun they were outside doing there thing but getting light deprived to start them off flowering. but now i haven't covered my plant for at least almost a month and they just kept on flowering but i do have some plants i put outside a few weeks back and they are vegging nice and should start to flower soon.

Hey, I am Beanzz neighbor up here at altitude. My own tactic in general is :

-keeping plants small enough and in pots that are easy enough to carry around (7 gal works for me)
-Top a couple times and/or mainline for more flower production from the final pot size
-initiate flowering and finish the grow 12/12 by putting plants out at 7-8 am and bringing them inside in a dark room at 7-8pm

In general, works great, but I have dealt with a few insect problems, mainly some kind of leaf cutter, and mites. And I put them on a porch under roof eaves so they don;t get pummled by downpours and hail when we have the afternoon thunderstorms. I did have one plant that succumbed to bud rot last year from hanging out in the rain and getting repeatedly drenched.

Anyway, first crop for this year is almost done, about 1-2 weeks until harvest, second wave of clones started and vegging living outside 24/7 for now. I'll initiate 12/12 with them the same way in another month or so.

Last year I tried letting one wave finish outside, but by mid-late September it wasn't going to happen because of freezing temps. They were big plants in 12 gal pots, too heavy to carry around, so I just moved them once to finish indoors under the lights.

wow turnip, you sound like me.
I pretreated mine last week and today I see flowering start. Vegged indoors till cpl days after official start of summer then I put them outside. Mother nature has been kicking our asses out here in Colorado this year...hail, rain and high winds
Bugs: I got that shit down this year...I spray the yard alternating 3 different types of pesticides, bomb every 60 days and keep my grow almost as clean as a TI room. To hell with bugs.
So super rainy so far...watching out for bud rot this year and keeping the bugs at bay (more rain =more bugs)

I do the same thing except I have got lazy this week. I took black trash bags and instead of dragging the plants indoors, I just cover the flowering ladies with a trashbag. I double bag it to make sure it's dark. Then at 9pm or so I go out with a flash light and pull the bags off. I'm hoping some of them will purple up. I'm growing one god's gift that has GDP genetics but so far she refuses to turn.

I know what that leaf cutrter bug is that turnip is talking about, it seems to really enjoy sativa leaves, They are eating my blue dream up and a little on my sour grapes. Everything else they seem to leave alone. I guess they don't like the couch lock type of high.

That's the truth man it's been a harsh year so far. So the yard sprays are pretty effective keeping bugs at bay? I'd be affraid it'd drive them to your plants to keep them safe lol.
I've been trying to figure out something, they basically ate one of my plants alive :/ First year outside.

beanzz, what is the bug?

Rockin' two plants in 10 gallons, vegged indoors under a CFL. I got my plants out kinda late, so I'm only hoping for a half a lb between the two. Also, I'm at 8300 ft.
I see little dotted beige trails on the top of a few leaves. Nothing showing on the underside of said dots, however. Anybody know what bug might be causing this?

trails usually =leaf miners. Dude...found some early signs of botrytis too. Watch out for this! check calyxes for bud rot...usually the 1st sign of it hits the calyx 1st. Green Cure kills it on contact. Usually it doesnt hit it till the buds are more dense and further along...someone posted on here the other day....had bud rot 2nd week into flower:(

Getting some stretch and lots of pistils. I'd say definitely pre flower for sure. I also had a late start. Got mine directly in the dirt. Got some aphids and possibly thrips hitting my stuff. But now I have armies of predatory beetles all over my plants.Nature provides! :D

Updates on grow they look to be just starting to flower in picture 1
Picture 2 thought I'd ad this picture
of lady bugs I thought was kinda interesting
My plants started pre-flowering a few weeks ago. I'm in Denver, I don't know where you are but it has been a pretty weird summer. Lots of cloudy days later in the afternoon. Usually I don't start getting flowers until the middle of August. My grape ape plant already has buds on, I know its an early finisher though. My GSC plants is starting to flower pretty heavy also. But I measured my plants with a tape measure on the 30th of July and measured them again yesterday and they had grown 4 inches. So at least they are still growing. I put my clones out in mid May and they were only about 5 inches tall if that. In the pictures in your first post on this thread it seems like your plants would be bigger especially since you vegged them 60 days before even putting them outside. They look healthy anyways. Good job.

Hi there I'm in west Jeffco area.
this has been a interesting summer, our plant that vegged indoor 60 days
has had a hard time between the summer hail and heavy rain.
our plant is around 5 feet but for some odd reason a lot of lower leaves
yellowed and died.

I don't know if you grow in a green house or not but if the ground has been continuously wet that could cause the yellowing of leaves. But also from the time my plans start flowering till I harvest the leaves are always yellowing and falling off. By the time I pull my plants which is usually October most of the big fan leaves have fallen off.

I'm at 6600' on the western slope. I have been growing and finishing outdoors. My strategy is to germinate seeds April 1. Keep them indoors until June 1st, It was the 14th or so this year. They usually star flowering mid-July. I'd like to see another 2-3 weeks go by prior to frost. Plants seem to be a foot or two smaller this year, 9-10 feet rather than 10-12. We may seeing the effects of a less active sun, different spectrum output in this low solar cycle. I like for my plants to get hit by frost to get some color change and less chlorophyll for better flavor.
