My Dilema ~ Any Input/Advice is Appreciated

Whats a good basic rule of thumb (if there is one) on lighting? Specifically the lighting for a DR120 or DR150.



Secret Jardin DR120 is $220.00
Secret Jardin DR150 is $280.00
Im, not positive on the closest space Ill have to work with, because Im still lookin at houses, but assuming both will fit fine, which should I go with?
I know different strains vary in size, but how many plants can each of these hold? (Guesstimation) Is the DR150 worth the extra money?

Im not Mr Money Bags over here, but I dont wanna get something just because its cheaper, unless its not gonna matter.

dr120 .............a 600w HID is perfect for hang in center u are getting maximum light for the plants u will avg in the upper half for the strain
dr150...............1 1000w hid is perfect ....ditto

the dr150 is a better choice for flowering plants with that 5x5 floor if u go with a large plant u can give it 2.5 feet sqaured for the plant allowing u 4 plants u are looking at 6 to 8 oz on each plant higher or lower depends on your skills and feeding

edit.........make sure when u order it they say it is REV2.5 there are still some 2.0 on the
market but most are 2.5 now just double check

Whats the difference in a REV2.5 and a 2.0? Are you referring to tent or lights?

REV 2.5 is the newest on the market

it has little thicker walls a better zipper........and the ports drawl strings are sewn better

Heres an idea: buy a cheap waterpump you can get at any petco, put it on a timer
-run a hose from the pump the length of the plants
-Also put the light on a timer, preferably digital..

the trouble is u have no idea of the amount of water u are releasing to the plant

the other part is if u leave the system closed like that and keep the water higher then the ejection point u will get a syphon effect and it will empty out the bucket ......i learned the hard way

i found this it works well ..........30 secs is half a cup of water on the time so max one line can do is 99 secs u are looking at little more then a cup and half per line ............so 2 lines is 3 cups that is a pint and half of water ...............every hour


just with this make sure u leave a line open and short so when it stops pumping air gets in to stop the water flow down the lines ........here is a trick i use .........the bucket u add a air stone too so the water is highly oxygenated it keeps the plant from drooping and if it does the recovery time is much much faster

now that pump u are talking about i own one u can take that use some piping and make a tea keeper .......make sure the bucket is blacked out light getting in means it goes bad

Im wanting to start growing as soon as I get a place of my own, but the problem is Im gone for half the week for work. Gone as in not at my house at all for 3-5 days depending on my schedule. I know these plants need looking after to maintain health and all of that good stuff, so my question is this:

Can someone who isnt home every night still grow? I know some things, like lights, can be ran off of a timer, but I havent looked into enough to know the ins and outs.



I would only be growing for personal use. Not looking to make profit or anything like that. I have a decent job in the medical field and Im just trying to cut down on my own personal consumption cost.



Anyone got any advice on set-ups or whether or not this is even achievable??

you're gonna want soil, a timer is a must good call on that. Just make sure to prepare your water days in advance so you can give them a huge dose before you leave for work. I've let soil plants go a week before I've had to water them again

not with the hole system u are talking about u would need to set it up and run it to get the amount the GPH does not matter with the flow cut off the way u are talking about ..........it comes down to number of holes and the pressure vs the amount of time
