The big island is my favorite. It provides a diverse social/economic/climatic environment.
If you have bank, you don't need to live anywhere near the rift-raft.
It's large enough you won't suffer from island fever.
On the other hand, it's one place you can live pretty frugally.

Live in the right areas and nobody cares if you're a damn "haole".
It doesn't hurt to have a little brown in you, or at least a good tan!

I'm in Barcelona, Spain. Within a 2 hour flight I can be in nearly a dozen countries. Even better located than London.

How many hours flight time to reach anywhere from Hawaii?
