Ok my plants are two weeks old today and about 4 in tall. Today the power went out and blew my 400 watt MH bulb:wall: Im so pissed cause everything was going so smoothly til now. n e way I have a new 400w hps bulb i was waiting til flowering to use. Can i use it now on young plants w/o burning them or something worse? Also what will 6hrs of darkness do to premature plants? Any imput is welcome as this is my 1st grow. thanks for looking:peace:

since 18/6 is a normal vegging cycle, the 6 hours of darkness isnt going to cause any issues at all ;)

you can also use the HPS bulb now without any problems.... assuming of course it is either a conversion bulb or you have a ballast for it.

you're fine, get another mh or just use the hps... you should start flwoering in a couple of weeks anyways.

i actually just had the same problem.....sumhow my lights got unplugged for 5 hours, i plugged them back in, but they are scheduled to go off again in 2 hours. will this stress the plant to be a hermie or any other negative effects???

No your fine.

Stress is more like that happening for 3 days in a row then you might have problems...and of course loss of potential growth.

If u wana use HPS then do not keep the light too close , they will grow very slicky and tall and they need tons of support in the future.MH does not have this problem .but HPS works good if not too close either.

no worries with the hps for veg..... do it up. might get some stretching but that could work great for a 4in tall seedling, teen....

i thought having a light closer will prevent stretching, and when u have the light farther the plant starts to stretch?
