Im also refering to *keeper* as a plant that is easy to grow with adequate results, considering this is what i presume to be a novice grower

The most beautiful plant I ever saw ( that's my opinion ) was a White Widow from Nirvana ( purchased thru The Single Seed Center ). I told my friend when she ordered from them that it would be a fucking miracle if she thought she was going to find a keeper from one single seed. I must say I was wayyyyyyy fucking wrong. Seriously the most beautiful specimen I have ever laid eyes on. She still has that single seed growing as a Mother and has probably taken 50 or so clones from it. Goddamn gorgeous, she should be be buying lottery tickets.

Well, some folks buy in to the notion that if you're a good grower, you will produce amazing plants no matter the genetic make-up. I tend to think that genetics play a far larger role in this equation.

I do belong to the shit growers club though, so take my thoughts on this with a grain of salt
Genetics raise the bar for sure.

Damn bruh people over here killing plants that don't meet expectations and have seeds to toss and I'm over here waiting on my 2 orders lol
Thays what im saying, a lot of peoples standards on here might deter you, but its because they have been gardening/networking for years.

I regularly let genetics pass these days that when i first started growing I would have been very happy with.

Point is, after watching your girl grow for 12 weeks its probably going to make you happy when u get to try it even if it isnt the greatest cut known to man.

My mayne,

If its your first grow, go CHEAP.

You will over water, you will over fert, your temps will be all off etc...

Grab some Kc Brains seeds, nirvana and or greenhouse just to get a feel for how this really works.

When I first started out I didn't wanna mess with pheno hunting, or grow out hemp. We don't have to worry about that shit nowaday. Unless you are in a medical state or a pot snob, the shit we have access to online is likely better than 90% of the stuff you're getting on the street.

If you stick around with the hobby, then invest in more expensive top dog breeders. Baby steps first tho playa

Ive culled plants as well; was refering to plants that were healthy from the get. (sorry, sometimes hard to organize thoights on a 2" phone screen)

I dont mess around with anything that looks suspect or mutated. I have however never killed a plant that was healthy in over 10 years :)

Sorry. I can see that my lack of detail is rough for the nitpickers

Thats my honest 2 cents though, search by strain, not breeder; or juat buy a pack and pheno hunt.

I cant stomach another sensless argument on this site!
I don't see any senseless argument. I see a debate with different opinions.

There is no wrong opinion being opinions are subjective.

We appreciate your civilized conversation.

You see you guys are looking for the holy grail I just wanna know which breeders have a good rep I don't wanna buy multiple seeds and have some being duds or Hermie's I'm new so I'll be more than happy with good smoke to grow not looking for the best strain just good breeders with good seeds any recommendations?
That's the good and bad. Try different strains and breeders. I doubt any of us will ever agree on who or what is the best.

since nobody can seem to give you a straight answer, I'll just straight out say go with Nirvana for your first time. Their beans are on the cheaper side, but they've got proven genetics. If you go to growweedeasy.com all they grow is nirvana strains and they all turn out really good. I'm currently growing 4 white castle's from nirvana and they all seem to be growing and filling out at the same rate except one plant that is a runt. Thats one reason why i decided to run my first grow with one strain from the same breeder, so i could distinguish between the diff pheno's. My next grow i'll grow a different strain from a different breeder.

I agree with ^^this^^.

It's all subjective though. I currently have 6 strains that are rotation in my garden. These have been collected via seed and clone after sorting through dozens of packs of seeds over the course of the last few years. I would guess that 90% of the packs that I've run have not yielded what I consider to be a "keeper".
do you mind sharing what those 6 strains are?

It's easier to dial in a grow when you run the same strain/clone, but folks that are most often one and done [ raises hand] are more likely to 'miss' on a plant that needs more attention than the one plan fits all that I prefer. So I've had more than a few harvested buds that I knew didn't get all the care they needed.

That said, some of those buds turned out to be great smoke, far better than some girls that smiled from beginning to end. For instance, a Soma Somango and DU Melon Gum [Soma hybrid] were run this past freezing winter - not good for roots in DWC, especially overnight. They finished, but showed the effects, so not picture worthy. But the 4 month cured buds are wonderful all around. Compared to say, Dinafem Critical+ or White Widow that were beautiful start to finish, but b- or c+ smoke in every way.

I see your point...lol. I've ran 3 separate fem beans of TH Se-eds A-Train. Very good, tasty smoke that finishes in 8 weeks. Never had a problem, and am running a 4th atm. Peeps very much enjoy it. Not expensive, either.

Sure. I'm currently running....

-TGA Cheesequake. Had this one for several years. Not my favorite, but my patients love. GREAT smell and taste, average high, but it does seem to do a good job with pain management and migrains for one of my patients

-Bodhi Dream Lotus. Nice hybrid. Total package of high, taste and smell with a great yield.

-Grape Fat Cheese. A cross made by a local fella of Grape Stomper (Gage Green intellectual property) x Exodus Cheese. Total package, night time heavy Indica

- Swami Genetics Zazen. This one will be culled soon. Great high, but no discernible tatse and smell. Tiny little frosted out plants with a sub-par yield.

- Gorilla Glue #4. Clone only, looks and sounds promising even though I haven't finished one yet

-Valentinex. High cbd plant developed by Nate Morris out in Cali. Being culled soon

-Cannatonic 4. Another high cbd plant

I have Bodhi Gogi OG, and Sunshine Daydream coming along that look promising. I also popped a couple Sannies Sugar Punch, Female Seeds C-99's followed by Sagarmatha Western Winds looking for a good Sativa to have in the mix.

What is your criteria? Do you want to grow regular beans, having to sex plants and cull males, or do you want to grow fems? You can cross a bunch of breeders off your list based on answering that.

Do you want a heavy, stoned-out Indica or a daytime racey Sativa? Answer that and you will further narrow it down.

How about smell and tatse? Do you like fruity tasting weed, or are you looking for skunky, or OG, etc? This will narrow it down even more.

How about flowering time? Do you want something done in 8 weeks, or are you willing to go 12+ weeks?

If you answer those questions better advice can be given.

Definitely fem for first grow maybe later some regs to make my own seeds but for now fem and indica would be a favorite I guess as me n my boys love kush but i m down to try some sativa strains or some haze and to me time done does not matter I don't want a quick growing plant if its gonna just be an ounce i can be patient because I heard the longer you veg the more bud is this true?
