do plants produce thc in defence against uv ?

i heard somewhere cannabis produce more thc as a defence against uv light, ?if this is true would it be right to add uv light in small amounts during flowering as not to harm them, i know mh lamps have uv ,but im talking about full black light?
 
I watched a YouTube vid where the guy explains all of that, don't ask me to find it, lol

I added a uv reptile bulb to a cfl grow to see if it made a difference, had to pull the grow so never found out if it made a difference.

Might try to set this up again sometime
 
I have UVB on my solar storm... But I always use it late in flower so I don't know if it makes it more potent. But it deff doesn't kill them lol
 
great video, but i have one gripe, if u run a uvb light 24/7 your plants will hermi nearly 100% of the time i think he must be misinform about that part. Flowering plants need their darkness. But i have heard of people getting great results running them for like 3 hrs every time the HPS runs.

uv light is darkness, its not in the visable spectrum, that's why there called.blacklights,
 
UV lights are more dangerous to the grower than the plant, if you want to look like Bubbles but with serious bud ....sure give it a go, but I prefer to leave my plants in the sun for the last 2-3 weeks afore harvest, ...in the know my plants are full grown and fully aware of their surroundings

Yea vos its nasty stuff. I run them the last 2 weeks of flower. I have a switch that i can turn the light off when I go into water and stuff. But the UVB light is the stuff that burns your skin. I had one female throw nanners last grow. But it happened well before the light was turned on. But like I said I always use it so I have nothing to compare it to!
 
UVB rays are responsible for causing most skin cancers. While large doses of UVA rays can contribute to cancer, it's the UVB rays that are commonly to blame.
If you've heard the advice to stay out of the sun though the mid day hours, it's the UVB rays you're trying to avoid. They are most prevalent mid day, so if you must be out at that time, protect your skin.,,,,,,i got this on a site,,it looks like its the uvb rays that are dangerous and that's what the plant is trying to defend its self from? i hope ,, keep digging boys,, our lifes are at steak!
