Bud Factor X is NOT a Magnesium Supplement!

There has been so much misinformation on this particular Advanced product that I felt the need to set the record straight.

Despite the fact that the only ingredient on the label is Magnesium Nitrate, this is not a Mg supplement. Sure the tiny bit of Mg in there help with Mg issues, but there is more to Bud Factor X than a "bottle of Epsom salts"

First here is a more detailed ingredients list which can be found on Advance's website.

"Proprietary Blend of Crustations, Magnesium Nitrate,
Glucosime, Proprietary Bloom Enhancing Plant Extract"

As we can see they tell us that this bottle is a lot more than Mg. What this product is really for is for tricking your plants into thinking they are being attacked by predators. This in turn will naturally increase the plants defense system, which will do a number of beneficial things but mainly increase terpenoid production throughout the plant. This theoretically will result in higher oil production, which would of course increase yield (more oil=more weight).

Also lets get down to the cost. It is expensive as shit if you feed it into the root zone(8ml/gal), however you can foliar spray(if your ventilation is lacking don't even think about foliar spraying in flower) it at a rate of 2ml/L. A liter for me can do about 16 4' tall plants in a efficient sprayer. That means that with 12ml i can do a whole run of Bud Factor X on 16 plants. A 500ml bottle retails at my store for $55, which come out to $1.32 per 16 plant crop. If that is not economical I don't know what is.

I am not saying this product works or that you should go out and give it a try, all I'm saying is that it is not just Mg and that in the right application it is not expensive. But yes I do use it ;)

Is this some sort of spin-off from the discussions about using raw salts?

As we can see they tell us that this bottle is a lot more than Mg.
Oh I see indeed, only useful ingredient however is the Magnesium nitrate.

Cool story bro. According to who's theory? Advanced...

Believe what you want just stating what it is actually supposed to do since raw salt guys are using it as an example to justify their Epsom salt use, which definitely works not saying it doesn't.

Harpin Proteins is nothing new, this is just Advance's version.

Ya that's why i like transparent companies like, Coke and Pepsi....

Whether you believe their propaganda or not, the point of this thread was to clarify some misconceptions of a particular product not to say that it is the fucking shit and your retarded if it's not in your nutrient regimen.

At least you got a link, thanks. Interesting read. I was obviously, since I underlined it, referring to:

"This theoretically will result in higher oil production, which would of course increase yield (more oil=more weight)."

I don't see anything about that on that page... Seems like a theory based on merely connecting dots.

All those products are like aging creams. Because there's a theoretic negligible difference they technically aren't entirely lying when they say it will make your skin look younger.

Believe what you want just don't go around misleading people that it is a bottle of epsom salts.

The latest Adam Dunn Show was all about integrated pest management and even touches on the idea that a plant that thinks it is being attacked will produce more terpenes. Amazing episode with a lot of great information

I have no problem with an.
Business is business.
I know what you mean about some of the things people say.
When I used it I got it for free and it definatly works well.
I have educated myself enough that I cant pay retail for it and feel ok.

However if you have the money and feel like buying it.
Why not?

Its hard reading some of the stuff people say without speaking up so I try to ignore the Its just sugar water comments.

It works well.
It is expensive
Very few know what those bottles contain.

Hold up, wait a second, I never said that. It's a bottle with magnesium nitrate and crap. I don't use raw salts. I'm lazy, I buy pretty bottles.

even touches on the idea that a plant that thinks
Well if someone "touches on the idea"... "that a plant thinks"... it must be true.

Wasn't trying to say you do. Just saying you can think whatever you want as long as you think there is other crap in there ;)

The Adam Dunn Show is worth the watch, dont be so closed minded by my laymen's wording .

Ok, well, in that case I will take your word for it, there is more in the bottle than epsom salt: crap your plant doesn't need to produce max quantity and quality. You're the one who uses like 20 bottles right? Put that effort into breeding more quality+quantity and it'll be a better way of spending that time and effort.

Not close-minded just very skeptical when it comes to additives in general when I just kicked them off. I still get sweaty sometimes around week 5-6.

I'll watch the show though, never heard of it.

Chitosan is best applied to the soil. There have been some studies that show that it is effective as a foiliar for treating botrytis and other molds, but it does not trigger increased resin production as a foliar.

Maybe use the expensive bottle in small quantities as a foliar like you have been doing, then pick up a bag of crab shell meal for the soil? Might give you the best of both worlds and not set you back much $$.
