G'day folks. I'm new around here but have been doing some reading and research regarding resin being a plausible treatment for cancer. It come as little surprise to me all the information I found. This site may very well be the thing that saves my little sisters life.
I, we..our whole family smokes recreationally and have for many years but that's not why I'm here doing this. How could ya not enjoy the herb?
My sister was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. After watching what the "medical professionals" have done to her with "medication" and dithering time away that she hasn't got I started looking. I believe I've found her best hope here, among yourselves.
My problem is this; I don't believe I have the time to grow & produce the resin she needs. She's always been my rock, my hero, despite being younger than I. This time, this one time, I'd like to be the one able to do something amazing for her. She deserves nothing less. So, if there are any of you out there that live in Nova Scotia or near enough to travel by car could ya get in touch please? Time is an issue at this point I'm afraid. Thanks in advance and thanks to you all for the volumes of info I've found here.

Good luck with everything, If you have your starting material ready it's quite easy to make oil that can be used for your purposes. It basically just involves an extraction using Isopropyl Alcohol, which absorbs the cannabinoids etc after which you strain out the raw plant material and let the alcohol sit in a plate and evaporate, leaving behind all the resin.

Thank you both, much appreciated. If I can find enough med. grade plant to cook my own I will the issue I have is I have no idea where to get that high a quality of product or even a rough idea of the costs associated with it in this area. I'll keep my ear to the ground. Thank you both, very much!

You don't need super high-grade medicine to make Rick Simpson Oil, people make very potent oil from trim and shake. Regular average-quality cannabis will do just fine :)

No need for AAA.
Outdoor will do fine. Cheap . Lots around your parts. :)
Make the meds first. Takes a day!
A couple OZ's can start a patient dosing for weeks until you get going.

chemo and radiation affect how the treatment works unfortunately. :(

As mentioned above, the good thing about making concentrates is honestly you're better off using cheaper material so you have a higher volume and just extract the goodies out of it.

`I'm from scotia and have also seen family members use cannabis during cancer treatment, not oil though, just to smoke and help deal with side effects from radiation and chemo. Its going to be very hard to find someone around here to openly discuss giving you concentrates, the most you will get is instruction. though mmj is legal, it is only legal in dried flowers to smoke or vaporize, or if you want, to make edibles or tea's with. to be more on the legal side of things, i would suggest your sister get a script. there are lp's that sell their shake for 1.75 a gram. like canna farms. and you know its been tested and its clean. I hope i could offer helpful information, unfortunately, it's a grey area as far as providing concentrates.

GB's suggestion was good. Can you find any herb at all? If yes it's a start. It could get you going with some right away. As mentioned here making it is pretty easy. Grab some ISO and soak it in it. Then let evaporate with a warm water bath or some type of heat. A double boiler also works. Watch the possibility of flames near it though.
Can anyone here help her out in that area of the country?
Keep us informed as to how the search is going. There are suggestions that can be made. But as said here concentrates are not legal. But then again dying is far worst than breaking the law. I'm sorry to say but this treatment is not easy to acquire openly.

the best you can do is make it yourself, as we dont allow hook ups on riu for legal reason.
You should also considering going to a naturopath doctor tohelp with the side affects of the current medical treatment she is getting, and as well switching her diet to a more balanced whole natural food diet
its done wonders for patients as well with cannabis

Also if you do get some oil, have her start very slowly with low doses until she gets used to it. Or she'll get pretty buzzed and it may scare her off a bit.

also try taking it at night at first, that way if she gets a buzz then she can get a good rest and sleep it off. I don't want to encourage you to break the law, but @The Hippy makes a valid point, you're gonna do whatever you need to save your sister.

The quality of the starting product will only effect the return. Essentially what you're doing is collecting the trichomes. So if you had a higher grade starting material with more trichomes, then you will have more product in the end. that's not to say that your end result won't be just as potent and effective, you just may end up with more if your starting product has more trichomes to yield.

High proof alcohol(Bacardi 151,AlCool,Everclear) may be used as a substitute to Isopropyl alcohol if there are any worries concerning ingestion once the product is finished.

No, I haven't gone anywhere. I've been keeping up with what's being posted and am extremely grateful. I've managed to get my hands in 1/2lb of bud. Not anywhere near enough I know but it's a start. I'll see what I can make outta this and move forward from there. All your tips and help are greatly appreciated.
There was mention of dosing and Chemo having an adverse effect. As far as the Chemo goes how do I counter that? She's (my sister) convinced and determined to do the chemo. Threatened to exile me if I tried to talk her out of it :( I understand that she's only making matters much worse but I can't get her to see any of that. She's so messed up on the prescriptions they have her on it's hard to have a conversation let alone a logical one. So as for dosing, taking this into account, how should I approach that issue? Is it easier to capsulate the resin?

Oh, one more thing. How do I measure the purity of the finished product? Is there a way to tell outside a lab?
