Looks like get Penningtons or Black Kow without dropping a fortune.. I will try WBS and aged composted cow manure... I still have some WBS i used for last jar run and it worked.

penningtons has cracked corn too doesn't it? i think what i got is the same pretty much.

once you remove the corn and sunflower it is mostly millet and safflower. I think i will just remove the sunflower and leave the cracked corn.. its a lot of work trying to seperate the corn and it seems impossible to find bird seed without it.

i have access to aged composted cow manure..

i just refuse to drop 50 bucks for the bird seed and like 30 bucks for the manure when I know i could get them both for under 10 bucks.

What do you do to prep your manure?

do you do the 1/4 inch verm, 1/2 inch manure. then mix the colonized WBS with the manure.. top with a layer of vermiculite 1/4".

do you soak your vermiculite in water first or leave it dry?
Use wbs and BRICK coir WITHOUT trich added...try pet store brick coir and wbs and u should be golden

I use to go with 8 quarts of spawn per monotub with 1 brick of coir. Just try to get keep atleast 1:1 ratio more spawn= faster colonization to put into fruiting, also make sure that
Cow poo is well aged too btw

i mix 50/50 put in a pillow sheet...run water through.....spin till its Field Capacity....just a few drops coming out the case ...stick in oven 175 degrees hour and half......and pretty much the verm on the bottom is to catch extra moisture mix WBS w/ poo add additional layer mist and cover...thats it

i wasn't able to get black kow locally in any way without paying like 15 or 20 bucks shipping. even through lowes. i'll try a few other things before i pay that much.
