I am not too impressed with the handling on these V8s. I actually thought about getting into some Japanese models. I live in the country and the off road AWD Evo's and WRX Sti have really been catching my eye. I seen videos of WRX's being used as snow plows and pulling trucks out of the snow!props to you on your 5 liter build, I run an auto repair shop, i'm a Japanese car guy myself, but I did own a 67 mercury cougar, damn thing was rusting faster than I could restore it though, my project was to put a rb26dett engine from the older skyline in it, more HP, torque, MPG and it's lighter, fuel injected, and I can program it. FUN stuff right there. But I got distracted with my Nissan sr20ve project....200 linear (3 stage cam lift/duration) horsepower in a car that weighs a speck over a metric ton and still gets 29 mpg (as long as I stay off the high cams) Good stuff.
Gotta LOVE the V8 cam idle though, sounds like it's running on 6 cylinders, bubbling through water.
I started with a '71 Charger SE and I wanted to do a 318 to 440 swap... It had so much cancer(rust) that I just got it running and sold it! Brackets were missing and bolts were crumbling in my hands! Since then, I have been doing 86-95 mustangs. I want a 64-69 stang but need to learn how to cure cancer lol!
