I've recently decided to expand my grow room and have a flower room and a veg room.

In my veg room I'll have 2 400watt lights

In my flower room I'll have 4 600w lights.

My question is basically, I know I won't be able to run all this of my of of my 20v breaker in my fuse box. What can I do?

I assume you mean 20 amp breaker? Voltage is either 120 or 240. Never put a higher amp breaker without running the correct size wiring. Best thing to do would be put another 20amp circuit running to your room, run with 12/2 wire.

Yes! I need one more 220 outlet in my veg for my 600w. I run 2 t5's in veg with a 600 inbetween those and a t8 on my cloning table. Then my flwr has 2-1000w. my electric bill is around 200 , not including my household, just grow. Just to give ya an idea

are you sure that the electrical bill will go down?by the law of Omh the only change that you will have with 220-230v is to lower the current but the wattage outpout is the same...isn't it?

You are right, my bad.... my electrician told me this. And it isnt all together true. I just looked at my electric statement last night and compared it to last yrs. I even run more fans and new dehumidifier this year and my bill is still lower then last yr on the 110. But last year I didnt have my flwr room set up yet bc I needed the 220 for the 1000w. So adding that too. But I dont always run 12 on when I have free light outside;)

look is simple the electric bill counts kw/h so if your wattage is the same as before even the voltage or current raise or lower it watt output is the same.i don't know the electrical cost in your country but you are using a lot of power :fire::fire:

Yea... when you questioned it...I had to double check. The 220 uses less amps and the same kilowatts as a 110. But why do you think we upgrade to 220 .... So we dont trip breakers from all the amps

yes with 220v you can use smaller electrical fuses rather 110v so its safer for your electrical panel and for your self too...

Find an electrician and tell him you want to add 2 new 220v circuits into your room. DO NOT try to install anything yourself, at best, you will burn your house down, at worst you will electricute yourself and then burn your house down. There is a reason it takes electricians years to get qualified. It's not simple.

15 amp breaker = 14 gauge wire
20 amp breaker = 12 gauge wire

Installing a 20 amp breaker on a circuit with 14 gauge wire will result in a definite fire hazard.

Get an electrician to sort out a solution that will suit your current and future needs.

we can make a simple calculation...
veg room 2*400=800w
flower room 4*600= 2400
so wattage of your grow room is 3200watts
P=U*I.... I=P/V=3200/110=29 amps wow!!!!so your circuit will cut off the circuit.
for 29 amps you will need the next bigger fuse..in europe next the bigger fuse 32A but.... if you want to plug something more (fan-light)maybe the fuse cant hold it....
so the best choice is a circuit breaker at 40amps with 2 inputs 2 outputs (by the law in europe devises over 16 amps need to terminate the power cable and the natural too.

this is a big load... what is the amps of your central circuit breaker?

I think that this advice should be given by a licensed electrician. 10mm cable seems like over kill, my 180amp 3phase power distribution board only uses 6mm.

i did't say 10mm i said 10mm2 (Square Millimeters) its the European measurement i don't know the us measurements i saw your electrical grow room setup excellent like a painting...in us with 110v central circuit breaker is huge!!!!in my place the biggest circuit breaker for houses is 3*100 max (for huge house )that's why is better to use 220v output smaller fuses wires and it's more secure..
i imagine a sort circuit at 180 amps :fire::fire::fire::fire: huge blast

Don't know if anyone cares, but technically, 240V lighting in homes and garages is prohibited under the National Electrical Code. All residential lighting is supposed to be 120V, period. If you're in a warehouse or industrial building, no worries.

is this law in us?in Europe i'm sure that is not like that
