new to flowering , questions about pistils

I set my lights to 12/12 like 9 days ago and I have 4 plants that are sprouting pistils, or at least what I think are pistils. White hairs coming out of the top of the nodes, where the new growth is sprouting. The strange thing is that on two of my plants some of the hairs are actually a brownish red color. Now please note there are NO buds going on here yet and there are none of these pistils down the lower nodes of the plant at all, just on the tops where the new growth is pushing through. The first of what looke like a pistil I noticed was yesterday.

So my questions are:

From the pics below, do these plants even look female to you guys??

Where do pistils begin forming? Do they actually begin at the top and work their way down, or do are they supposed to be popping all over the plant at the same time.

What do you guys think about the fact that I have brownish red hairs sprouting from the tops of my plants(two of them, the other two are white hairs.)? Is that some kind of bad sign, or perhaps not even pistils at all?

and i want to get in before the posts about them not looking so hot. Im in a constant battle with temps in there. The highest reading ive had is 86 degrees but when i put my hand in the box it feels really warm. Also my timer is like 3 minutes off, meaning The lights cut out at 5:55pm, but come back on at 5:52 AM. What do you all think If I set them for 11.5 of light and 12.5 hrs of dark? main question though is are these actually females?? seems strange because this is bag seed, planted 5, and have 4 that are all shooting these hairs. The other one is very small and hasn't done much, but def. hasn't shown any maleness yet. It just doesn't seem right to get 4 or 5 females out of 5 seeds that weren't feminized. If I do have 5 females I think I need to go to vegas. Anyway maybe they aren't even showing sex yet. I'm as noob as noob gets at growing and there are NO hairs coming out of any nodes but the tops.

Its hard to see if they are in fact pistils or just new growth. Not sure if its a concern but something I would watch. Perhaps others could chime in with way more experience and better eyes lol.

Perhaps posting a few picks of the lower nodes were preflowers will be would help. I run a 12/12 cycle till 2-3 weeks from end then 11/13. Does this help or hinder? Hell if I know lol.

well the problem is that the only camera I have is an iPhone camera so its really hard to get pics, but im telling you there are NO preflowers on the lower nodes. Ive been keeping really close watch on these guys too and the hairs coming off of the tops are definitely something that only recently started about a week after the 12/12 switch. That's my concern really, that there are no hairs or preflowers on any lower nodes, only the tops. some of the hairs are white, while others are a darker brownish red. I guress the best to look at would be the one titled 'female question mark 3'. I hate it that I'm only able to produce subpar quality pics, but in person you can definitely see these as hairs and not the beginnings of new leaves. But its all at the top, no hairs or preflowers on the lower nodes. Maybe its a weird hermie thing IDK, but I suppose this isn't the start of flowering if the pistils are not popping arount the whole plant huh?

Also keep in mind that this is day 9 after the 12/12 switch and I only noticed 2 of these hairs when I woke them up yesterday morning, and there were noticeably more up there this morning so it seems that something is happening. I just don't know what. Thanks for replying btw. sometimes I'll get like 115 views without a single reply. kind of discouraging.

I have an Iphone so understand you dilemma lol. It seems early to start showing pistils at 9 days. So there is nothing showing at the nodes? It'll be interesting to see how this plays out.

i'm not really seeing any kind of pistil's growing any where, and all i see is now, veg growth in the few pix i see..
if you don't see preflowers, then there is no way you should be seeing pistil formation first.. first you have to learn to walk, preflowers, before you can run, flowers, pistils..
not to sound like a smart ass, but that's why they're called preflowers.. you'll see them before you see flower formation, pistil growth..

I just can't get in there with my camera. Forget the pics, they suck you can't see shit. Just imagine brownish hairs, what would that be about? anyone know?

this is honestly the best I can do. this is even supposed to be hd res on this camera for fux sake. anyway I know you can't really see it, but growing out of one of those horny type things that pair on every nide Is I white hair. If you cant see it, which is probably the case, you'll just have to take my word for it. oh boy the soil is pretty bad. It's a just a generic potting mix the I added perlite to, the the mix itself just sucks, it holds way too much water. My soil doesn't dry out after a good watering for a good week a lot of the time I the smaller plants. Humidity is the only thing that I think has been perfect because it just fluctuates from 45 to 55. When I first started these things I was just really ignorant about growing. Maybe I still am who knows but im already set up for the next one with a coco mix.
