I've got a jewelers loop and I examined her all over and no ambers what so ever and not a full cloud on the trichs. I guess it's an 11 weeker maybe. I dunno? She's looking better by the day and I want it to be the best chop on her. Looks so dam delicious so far!! Killing me!!

I should rephrase my previous post. I don't harvest by trichomes alone, they're just part of the big picture. Looking at your new pictures I'd still say around a week more.

I was trying to go by the Calyx and that part looks ready. But the Trichs are not getting cloudy with no amber what so ever. But I think I may have remembered what this might be. I had smoked some Mendoncino last year and I remember finding some seeds. But I couldn't remember if I had kept them or not. I guess I did, lol. I guess since it was grown out doors it didn't turn purple I'm guessing. I've got the climate in the day time hours at 78 and at lights off it gets down to 73. All I know is that she's turning a little more purple everyday and I'm loving the looks of her! Not super bulky but buds are everywhere. It was good smoke from what I remember. Real calming and laid back. Really excited to try a taste! Here's a pic under the HPS. Hard to tell color when the lights are on when taking a picture.

Thanx! Not a clone. I wish I had tried to take a clone though. Oh well. She was practice and I'm not disappointed. I just gotta keep honing my skills. I finally busted the bank and got me some new babies to hatch

I just did a bit of an experiment with a Kosher plant that I let go for over 115 days and it only developed one or two amber triches in that period. I dont think it would have ever produced much amber lol. Couldnt wait any longer though. Had to pull it as I was running out.

That is some beautiful looking bud there my man!! UmUmUm!! Love the purple hues. My favorite. I'm sure you could smoke it now and be perfectly happy with the results, but if you're waiting for the trichs to get cloudy/some amber, then be patient and wait. I've had plants that flowered for more than 12 weeks and still didn't really have many amber trichs. After 11-12 weeks of flower any plant should be ready, regardless of what strain it is. Take a sample, dry it for a few days, and try it out. Great job no matter what!! Wish I could be there with you when you try it out! ; )

Man that seems like a long ass time to flower! Was it good weight and high?

The weight really didnt change much over the last 35 days that i could see. Looking at the trichs was interesting though. Around day 65 they were swelled and mostly clear with some cloudy, as time went on it was as if some of the trichs had lost there mushroom head and reverted back to somewhat pointy, but they could have been new growth. The smoke from the later harvested plant may be more mellow and not quite as speedy but not an earth shattering difference. I will be comparing both as time goes on trying each every couple of weeks. Also the later harvested plants do seem a bit harsher (i use vaporizer) but again the later buds are not cured yet. Rudimentary conclusion, if I need it, as in running out, i'll pick it without to much concern re quality! And yes the Kosher is a very nice smoke, would I grow it again? I would but I would clone the best pheno as there is a few shit ones that are spindly with small buds. One pheno was this huge 5 main cola beasty lol.

Day 70... Since I decided to wait it out on a lot of them I noticed today that the freaking tops are starting to bend over from the weight on some of them!! I figured if I'm gonna go the distance with those three purps then I'd might as well take the rest that aren't too cloudy and go the distance with them as well. And I also noticed they are all firming up really tight like rocks!! I can't imagine what they're gonna be like close to day 80. One thing I was curious about is when y'all said to take it about another 10 days, is that with flush as well or just feed as normal and flush after the 10 days??

She's getting better and better looking by the day! So excited!! I'm sure some expert growers could have her looking 100x better but for my 3rd ever grow I'm stoked! Thanx to all the people on RIU for the info and help This is my classroom!

I'm still not sure of the benefits of flushing. I did have a plant lose a nasty after taste by flushing the last few for a week. I grow in hydro and typically from seed which means different phenos and different harvest times so I rarely do it. I do cut down on nutes to the bare minumum. Nice plants! Can't do much better than that! Nice grow!

Thanks WD! It's like I learn something new everyday whether it be reading or in the garden. I don't believe you can learn enough because it's never ending. Thanks for the advice. I did flush one with no nutes and just added the Cannazyme and Boost at full strength. Gonna do a comparison and I also cut a sample off and letting it dry right now. I've got to see how she smokes

i like to see my fans turning yellow when i harvest ,means vry little nitrogen . i dont like my bud turning into a sparkler when i throw the fire to it and a lot if nitrogen will do that not to mention nitrogen is a terrible "carseniogen i cant spell "

Yea that's a tough one. Carcinogens are not good for us period. Much less in the smoke. But if that's the case I'd have to quit eating good ole smoked Bar-B-Que and I'm not doing that, lol. Gotta have my BBQ

ole southern bbq does not apply mans has been eating meat seared over a fire for 10-20- thousand years but i likes me sum sloppy ribbs nom nom nom nom. seriously tho sparkle bud will fkup the lungs

Flushing is one of the more , how should I put this, passionate subjects here lol. Yes try a few different grows and see for yourself would be my suggestion. I really haven't noticed a difference other than that one grow where the bad taste went away after flushing. And perhaps growing clones would be easier in figuring out when to start.
