So - what would YOU like to see done? Just curious.
Good point, this represents the best potential we've had to get some politicians behind this cause. Do we let it go because we don't trust politicians? Or try to milk it and see where the chips land? I say milk it for all it's worth, the alternatives are offering nothing or worse, like the MMPR program...

Ask them at the door....you'll know...when people are in front of you they act different than when you talk to them over the phone. That's what I'm going to do. If they don't have a plan, I'll tell them that they've lost my vote.

I see they got your vote no problem...... I hate to say it but so far the courts done more for MJ than any politician, I do hope they do legalize it but ..... it's just that gut feeling that they are just taking everyone for a ride on the promise rollercoaster.

I think it should be as easy to get MMJ, as it is to get any over-the-counter prescription - like Tylenol. That would be my plan.

People that want to, can grow it. Just like people that want to make wine or beer, can do that if they have the time and commitment.

I just sent an email to the LP. I told them that support for JT was waning in the medicinal "community" without clear direction, and if they thought this issue didn't matter they should think again. Then I said I would have to reconsider my support based on this issue.

OOoooh - that's clever!

Maybe it's a good idea to talk to all 13 of them...I'll have load of free e-mailing time next week. It's onnnnnnn.....

I can be VERY annoying and persistent, when I want to be.

No chance of confusing me where this issue is concerned. They can double speak all they want...if I don't get a clear concise answer to the the question of legalization I WILL NOT VOTE LIBERAL!!!!

I know this is a personal question, but who would you vote for? If the Green Party could get any traction at all - that would be awesome.

I just NEED to make sure the conservatives don't get in. I really need that.

Not the conservatives. I don't honestly know...it would piss me off to have to waste a vote or contribute to a split vote....hmmmm

I know! And the little knowledge I have is:
Green Party: legalization and a free baby seal for everyone (I like them the best, and they are the only group I have ever voted for - but they don't often win the majority of anything)
NDP: Decriminalization (not good enough)
Liberal: Legalization (plan TBA, or at least I dont know it yet)
Conservative: suck ass, in every respect.

That's all I got.

it's liberal or nothing for me. *so odd to say that.
the other 2 parties are either corrupt and i'm sick of (and never wanted in control) or in shambles and not fit to lead IMO (and i'm still pissed how the NDP outsted Carol James and basically gave the libs the provincial election.
green's a nice thought, but i still fall into the 'complete waste of a vote/time' mindset with them.

you do realize you drank the koolaid on the baby seal thing, it actually helps control the population as when they get too big of a population they actually damage some fisheries and other wildlife by eating too much :)
just cause they look cute.... hell no one really cares when they kill coyotes when they get too big in populations

Youll never see it legalized cause dey don't control it like dey control Tabacco.
My 2cents anyway.
you can grow your own tobacco (not many do though, as it's a PITA)
there is a limit.. much like i'm sure there will be with personal cannabis cultivation, but you can grow it.

*
Tobacco grown for private use

Still held up in amounts.
....But I retract my statement.
An I'm still not paying for it. I'm taxed enough.

I
smoke and mirrors

just a warning
In the past, I would have agreed with you, but I think the stars are aligned in favour of legalization this time. The change in attitude in the US and around the world, and the revenue being realized through taxation, gives marijuana legalization as an election issue, legitimacy. I actually think Canadians should have the right to demand a binding referendum on this and any other issue of national interest and personal freedom. I am not a supporter of any political party, but I am a HUGE Harper-hater, so by voting LIB It gives me the best chance of ousting the CONs and ending prohibition.

I was using "baby seals" as a popular example.
To be at all honest, I just really want to have pot easily accessible to all in need.

That's really what I want, I feel like the rest will just fall into place...

I do get the possibility is there but even if they start the process it would take years and years to even come to fruition.
has anyone ever watched a session of question period, what a bunch of fucking children all of them!!!!
The worse part of politics is all of them are bought and paid for by some company, there is no true democracy anymore... it's all about money and those that have the most get what they want.

just saying it's a popular misconception that is spread by loser celebrities that see a cute little seal being clubbed to death.
saves on bullets... just saying... but it's ok to hook a fish in the mouth. I have had fish they actually have personalities too.
no worries I want MJ for anyone who wants it too.
