CFL light question.

Hello all,

I have been doing search after search and can't find what I am looking
for so I thought I would just ask. (plz forgive if this is a dumb question)

I have a CFL grow going and want to confirm I am using the correct lights.

In the Veg room I have 5500k CFL lights from home depot (blue package)
and a coupl3 2700k CFL lights (green package). I read someplace on this site that you should use a 2 (5500k) to 1 (2700k) ratio for the 5500k and 2700k lights. Is this the correct set up for the Veg room? or should I go with all
5500k lights?

In the flower room I use all 2700k CFL lights (green package). Is this
correct or should I mix up the light with some of the Red package CFLs?

Any info will be greatly appreciated. I want to make sure I have the
correct set up.

UMMM....I cant tell you exactly what you need but here is what I do for 2 to 3 plants.

VEG- 8 bulbs. 4 - 23watt 5000k(5500k will be fine) and 4 - 40watt 2700k
Flower - 8 bulbs. 2 - 23watt 5000k and 6 - 40 watt 2700k.

of the time and maybe 4 plants max in the flower room.

From what you are telling me I need to get a couple 5000k CFLs
in the flower room.

Anyone else? I want to get a better feeling for if I am doing things
right or not.

My set up is Veg room 4 23w 5500k and 2 23w 2700k (atm 2 plants
in the room but the plan is for 1 mother and her clones for that room)

My Flower room has 2 42w 2700k (over the plants) and 4 23w 2700k
on the sides. (atm 2 plants in there waiting to show there sex so I
can make one of them the mother)

Everything seems to be growing good in both rooms just wanting to
see if there is anything I can do different to help things out.

Your 5500k lights will be fine, but yes I would still put some blue light in during flower as well. For the blues I believe you will fine with the 23watts, but the red takes more energy than blue to create, hence the 40watts. I used 23watt 2700k bulbs for my first few grows and I got decent yields but could have been better, things looked alot better after I switched to the 40 watt 2700k
