I was on my way to pick up some Light Warrior from a grow shop when I decided to stop at the Home Depot and pick up a CREE 60w 2700k for my sons strawberry plant (real berries). I thought hmmn I will grab a 5000k for my clones just to see what happens. I replaced 96w of 6500k flo's with that 60w CREE and "holy shit" if not more than 3 hours later those droopy clones were perking up looking 100% better. I was pleasantly surprised. Now I have a variety of 6 extra lights laying around. I am at 100% CREE grow lights now and things are looking better, truly amazing lights.

The 5000k cobs are pretty much the cat's meow for clones. I had a similar experience. My clone light uses 3 Vero10 cobs driven at 350ma which works out to 24 watts at the plug. The clones really do well under that light. I also grow a mother under 48 watts (at the plug) using the Vero10 cobs using both 4000k and 5000k in equal amounts. Mom is a happy producer of clones. I too have a collection of lights most of which are pretty good. It's just that the ones I built are better. I have a backup if needed but that may not happen.

Could you please list the parts you bought from H.D. to build this.
Not sure what he is using but i think its this or this.

I would get this instead though. It is 18w draw unlike the 9.5w ones above. The 3000K is good for veg and flower. I'm not sure how hard or if its even possible to remove the diffuser but I would try for sure.
