I find every once in a while I have to smoke...it does something different that I can't quite put my finger on, but it works well when I need it. I take your not filling the bag? Your kings will definitely thank you.

I filled one bag and it kicked my ass :) I think that I'll primarily crack out the bags in a social/group setting, but for personal use I see myself using the whip the vast majority of the time.

Any other Extreme Q owners on here? I'm a big fan of smoking, but my lungs and throat have been taking a bit of a beating lately with how often I have to medicate. I did some research and decided on the Extreme Q as a great "bang-for-your-buck" option for my first table-top vape.

I just went out to my local store this afternoon and came back with my new toy, and after playing around with it for the last hour I have to say that I'm very impressed. It looks and feels like a very well made unit at this price point ($200), with lots of options: whip, vapour bags, 3 fan speeds, remote, programmable auto-shutoff, etc. I'm a big fan of the simple and sleek design as well.

Plugged it in, ran it on high for about 25 minutes to burn off any dust or residue from the factory, loaded up a Cyclone bowl with some Kandy Kush and gave it a test drive. Tons of control, very easy to dial in the right temperature for the desired vapour density......185ish gives a really nice light vapour, and at 200-205 you can get some seriously dense rips. No combustion that I can detect, and the taste, wow! It's been a while since I've used any kind of vape and they have really come a long way.....the taste is amazing, and I'm picking up flavours in strains that I've been smoking for months and had no idea were there. Extremely smooth, and it only took me a couple of draws to get far more medicated than I do off of a couple of bong rips.

All in all, a fantastic first impression and two thumbs up so far, and I haven't even tried one of the bags yet (I'm more of a whip guy). Curious how many others own or have tried the Extreme Q and what others think of the unit? I'm not a vape expert, so I'd love any tips and tricks that the more experienced vapers would like to share.

you just helped me make up my mind lol. i've been browsing vapes and have been putting a lot of thought into this particular model. i would like to not smoke at all eventually and only vape (the biggest battle being cigarettes..i know, if you only knew some shit when you were younger.. 8-) )

I'm honestly kicking myself for not investing in one of these much, much sooner.

the only vape i ever owned was one of those shitty white ones with a metal plate on the top and you basically sat the chronic on it, and screwed a glass jar over the top. it would get so hot that you were basically smoking a hookah at a certain point lol

I just tried the old "elbow-pack" with great results. Perfect for small personal sessions and even thicker vapour. Extremely happy with my purchase and the value vs cost. Short of an ipod docking station and speakers, this this has everything I need and more.

I highly recommend this unit to anyone looking to invest in their first home vape, fantastic product IMO. I've only had it for 8 hours and I'm already in love with it.

I'm a Volcano Classic owner, and am completely satisfied. I was lucky tho, as I lived in Van and just went down to Marc Emery's volcano lounge and tried one out first, and bought one shortly afterward. I've been using my Volcano Classic for 6 or so years, so way before the ExtremeQ's existence.

However, I've gotten to know the Arizer guys over the last few years, and I'd recommend their product. The ExtremeQ is the best bang-for-your-buck bag style vaporizer going, and I have had several mates buy them on my recco, and be completely satisfied as well. They're canadian too, which is good as we're supporting local companies.

I have a Solo for when I'm on the go. It takes a bit of getting used to, but I like it too.

I'm not going to argue with a cat whose avatar is Darth Vapor :) Being a Canadian product is the cherry on top, it's nice to see some great products being made here at home. When we see full-on legalization, I'm sure we'll see an explosion of Canadian MJ-related innovation.

Volcano classic solid valve owner here too. Love it and will gladly purchase another if/when the time comes(bought mine in 2010 and it gets used a few times a day.). But I have heard good things about the Arizer. For it's price point it offers whip AND bag which is an awesome choice to have(choice is always good). For a portable i went with the PAX by Ploom.

I've heard the Arizer uses cheaper pathway/heating parts than the Volcano, thus the difference in price. Anybody tear them apart?

I'll eventually be getting a portable, how do you like your PAX? That's one of a few in that price range that I am looking at.

I have seen the inside of a Volcano unit, but was not looking for anything in particular so i couldn't tell ya. I can attest to the insane craftsmanship used in it's construction though. Also, for those that may be interested, the Volcano uses security Torx bits, NOT regular Torx bits. The difference is that the security bits have a little post in the middle. You can find these bits in computer and cellphone repair kits.

LOVE it. It's the one portable vape that actually gives me the flavor and mini versions of the vape clouds my Volcano gives me. I don't like Apple as a company, but if they made a vape, it'd be the PAX. All aluminum, concealable(huge plus), warms quickly, 3 temp settings, lots of hits off one charge, only 3 pieces to it which makes cleaning easier, magnetic oven lid so you don't have to worry about losing it or fumbling to put it on.

Just keep an eye out for fakes as there are now perfect examples being bought by unsuspecting consumers and retailers. They got the packaging and manual EXACTLY the same and the unit is a spot on recreation. This matters because PAX is who you ship it to for warranty and if it's a fake you are S.O.L. So 2 tell tale signs you got a fake PAX are:

1. Real PAX has a Torx screw(funky star shaped bit) on the back of it, the fake does not. It's a Philips head I believe.

2. Real PAX has stainless steel magnets on either side of the oven door on the bottom, fake PAX has some odd reddish tint to their magnets on the oven door.

Also here's the review that helped me make up my mind:

Happy shopping!

So just a few more comments about the Arizer Extreme-Q unit and vaping in general. I've now had my first table-top vape for a day and have yet to smoke anything :) Some things that I really like:
  • being able to experiment and dial in temperatures to target the vaporization of different groups of cannabinoids and terpenes for varying effects and tastes.
  • NO ASH IN THE HOUSE OR STALE SMOKE SMELL! :)
  • effects: I notice a very distinct difference in the nature and duration of high when vaping. The buzz is much more in the head, and feels much cleaner and clearer. It lasts longer, with no 'burn-out' after, and makes for a fantastic method of administration during the day
  • health: a vape session with my morning coffee is a HUGE improvement over my typical morning joint or bowl. My lungs and throat are already thanking me as I don't have the wheeziness/tightness/burning that persists when smoking all day.
  • aesthetics: The Extreme Q is a sleek, modern looking unit that looks great on display between sessions....no need to hide this one out of sight. For those that aren't familiar, here is what the unit looks like:

  • convenience and functionality: the unit is smaller, light, does not get hot to the touch, and is easy to move around the house as necessary. Without the concern of smoke, ash, and dust, I'm now able to medicate in my home office and recording studio, two areas that were previously strict no-smoking zones. Now, instead of having to stop what I am doing to take a break and medicate, I just reach for the whip or push a button on the remote to start filling a bag. The programmable auto-shutoff is also a huge bonus as I have yet to remember to turn it off after a session.
  • versatility: this is where the Extreme Q really shines IMO. The whip is great for during the day, I set my unit up next to my computer and can casually draw on the whip as I work. You have a couple of options with the whip, as you can fill the vortex bowl for a longer lasting session, or you can pack the screen in the glass elbow joint for a smaller session and super dense vapor. It's amazing how many hits you will get just from packing that little screen, I now see how vapes can really stretch out your stash. At night, in a group setting, or if you want to get really medicated, the bags work fantastic. With a nice slow fan setting to provide a nice dense vapor, one bag taken in a single sitting absolutely kicks my ass! :)
All in all, extremely happy with my purchase, and will highly recommend the Extreme Q for anyone looking for a quality versatile vape and not wanting to fork out the big bucks on a Volcano unit. Best $200 paraphernalia purchase that I've made to date, hands down.

Excellent review DL
Thanks Leaf :) As a long-time smoker, I had a hard time deciding which unit to get when making the plunge, and figured this could be helpful for any patients that are also looking at investing in a vaporizer for health reasons.
